Hey mate. I met you at Devils Bend today. I’ve only just started mushrooming my self. There are huge patches of slippery jacks there. (Confirmed after watching this) I can’t wait to go back and have a crack at them. Love the vids mate!

Hey Mate, nice to meet you. Yeah I’m a bit of a novice on mushrooms myself, think I’ll just stick to the basics! Just for reference though, I really liked the pine mushrooms so give them a crack at some stage. Glad you liked the videos, new one will be out soon!

That's strange way of explaining. The orange ones (saffron milk caps) are some of the meatiest/tastiest mushrooms, almost like chicken when cooked. Slippery jacks are flavourful but they are disgusting consistency like you are chewing snot when cooked. Amanitas actually taste better than both and are not poison. This is beginnger level mushroom knowledge people who know these mushrooms know that they are not poison but can make you sick if you eat kilograms raw. Drying and cooking them in a soup can give one a psychedelic experience which can be quite healing and life-transformative if prepared and used correctly. Siberian shamans have been using these for medicine and vision quests for thousands of years. In small doses 1 bite or 1 small cap can be used as medicine for pain, anxiety, depression, energy ect.. Do your research rather than spread misinformation.

Pretty sure it is poisonous, just maybe not as bad as people usually assume. If I'm not mistaken you want to boil it plus other optional steps to convert the ibotenic acid (which is a neurotoxin) into muscimol. If your looking into that sort of thing your adventures are up to you and all but I would recommend looking for subaeruginosa. I forget in what season but amaniteas can be 10x as strong plus more chance to upset your stomach, but if you do the research and your keen, all the power to ya.

@@ryza1913 Again can be "toxic" at high doses in its raw form, but far from "poisonous". There has never been a recorded case of someone dying from Amanita Muscaria (fly agaric). They usually die from consuming the (death caps). Completely different white mushroom that grows near by these 3. Milk thistle usually also grows nearby which is the Anti-dose for mushroom poisoning or have some activated charcoal at hand.

Just don't pick them all. Leave some to grow and release their spores. Humans seriously go and clear out every single thing they can find.

Best way to eat saffron milk caps, Slice the mushrooms and gently fry in butter, fresh garlic a little finely chopped onion and fresh thyme for a few minutes. Add some cream and simmer for a few minutes more. Serve, sprinkle freshly chopped parsley on top.

You can use those agarics as a natural insecticide. Powdered Agaric, sugar, and some water is all you need outside your backyard for the summer.

Cutting with a knife possibly introducing bacteria to the mycelium potentially killing it. Incorrectly stating Amanita Muscaria will "get your stomach pumped" LOL

Definitely need to mention about sickness caused if slippery jacks are not prepared properly. To be safe, the pores and the slippery surface should be removed.

I thought you guys knew what you talking about until you talked about the fly agaric. It's not deadly, and you will not be rushed to a hospital. You'll just get loony in the head. Do your research so that you don't sound like fools.
