This is lovely! I love how you demonstrated using various yarns to get those cool effects for the tree bark and grass. The mushroom pictures together look super sweet. Thanks for sharing this and for explaining your process 😊

This is adorable!! 😍 I really love all the texture you've created with all the different yarns, that's so inspiring!! I definitely will have a go at this! I was just thinking "oh no, now I have to go and buy all these different yarns with the interesting variegation and the different constructions, as I don't think I have any like that", and then I remembered, I have a bunch of wools and I have drop spindles, so I can literally make my own! In fact, I already have some yarn I made when I first learned that's way too lumpy & bumpy to use for knitting, so it's just been lurking in the bottom of a drawer, but it would be perfect for something like this! 😃 Now I just need to look up how to spin beehive yarns... 🤔😅

What a fantastic piece! Are all the yarns you use 100% wool? Is it possible to use a wool/acrylic blend or pure acrylic yarn instead?

Thank you for your series of videos. I bought a kit from different company that you never mentioned months ago with having no clue what wool felting was. It had directions but not great ones and all black and white. Your description here and on website helped me understand what I was supposed to do to finish the project. I won't do this again, not my cup of tea, I will go back to painting and paper crafting! AGAIN, THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP!

I read somewhere that felting was more than just crafting because the crafter becomes the artist by using felt to draw, paint, or sculpt. How true that is.

I love how this turned out! I've had it in mind recently to be on the lookout for lovely textured yarn to start incorporating into my felt pieces so it was wonderful to see an example of that! I just love the dimensional look of these. For the future though I would perhaps caution against gluing your art to that pressboard backing that comes with frames. Just thinking in the long term here it's quite acidic and can damage pieces over time. We also frequently have people who bring in artwork to have it reframed after acquiring it and it's always unfortunate to open it up and find it's been heavily adhered to a component of the frame. Maybe if there's space in the back you can glue it down to a panel of thicker ply mat or a similar material? I always love listening to your videos as I felt along on my own projects - great inspiration as always!

Great idea, I will definitely look at that, thank you! This is the perfect way to use yarn and other materials and it really does pop out of the frame, glad you like it and thanks for watching xx

Lovely! I cannot draw or paint, either. I do love creating pictures with wool, though. Gonna have it in my next course as well. Last course was all 3D, I want to show what is possible with 2D next. Already bought the frames. I need to create more pictures to promote that part of the course first, though. I'll let my students bring their own pictures they want to create. (I know I'm too adventurous for my own good...)

I'm waiting for a wool delivery that'll have white wool for me to wet felt the backgrounds. (I know you can take any colour, but I think it will look nicer and feel more like painting for the next course.) I did get a delivery with 38 Merino tops (different microns) today. I even filmed myself unpacking and then packing them into my "system". Still need to finish clearing the wall for my next shelf. Can't wait to finally have everything in order. (I do live in chaos in my rooms, but wool, needles and other work supplies need to be orderly for efficiency^^) @@feltsbyphilippa I think probably all I know about texture and working with "knitting wool" for felting I learned from you (or developed(tried from there). Always looking forward to your videos, even if I don't learn anything new.
