There is too much background noise and it's hard to focus on what you're saying. I am doing a music pedagogy course offered by Furtados in India and am having a hard time in understanding different methods. Can you explain in brief what the major methods are and also the other methods like Gordon or world music methods?

Kodaly - Music begins with singing, should begin very young, should focus on teaching the student through traditional folk songs from their own culture. Music should be a core subject and connect to other core subjects. Sequence: -Teach expressive elements: Tempo, dynamics, timbre. -Use inner hearing and musical harmony. -Musical memory. Sing a song on a neutral syllable or solfege and have students identify the song being sung. Orff - Provide natural settings for students to begin learning, including movement, speech, instruments, singing, rhythmic and dramatic contexts. Improvise and compose. All materials need to be basic and simple. Mostly pitched percussive instruments. Sequence: -Imitation, begin with small rhythm and speech patterns. -Exploration, incorporating different types of harmonies to hear and use, and simple drones and obstinate. -Improvisation, body percussion, claps, taps, snaps. -Creation, totality, activity, creativity, motor activity, theory, community, child centeredness. Gordon - Orally and aurally, speaking and hearing. Audiation, the way a person hears a specific set of pitches but not in an order. Imitation leads to a product Aptitude, potential and motivation to learn and achieve music. Sequence: -Whole-part-whole: learn content in a natural setting, breakdown the parts, apply the parts back in classroom activities. -Learn all the modes. -Teach content on different keys, while also teaching different meters. -Activities should only last about 5 minutes so as not to overload students. Dalcroze: Eurythmics, teaching musical concepts through dance. Strong kinesthetic connection. The goal is for students who struggle with the read and write style of learning to have a guide to learn music. Sequence: -Learn about rhythm and meter physically before visually and aurally. -Develop basic motor skills through interpretive dance. -Imagination, creative expression, coordination. -No set curriculum as it differs depending on the teacher's preference. World Music Pedagogy: Ethnomusicology, study music through a cultural aspect. Using movements like dance to teach different cultures. Instruments are added when needed for specific songs. Sequence: -Attentive listening -Engaged listening -Inactive listening -Creating world music -Integrating world music
