No mention of Ray Davies and his brother Dave Davies of 'The Kinks'. Those two never got along that well to the point that their original bass player Peter Quaife just could no longer deal with the two brothers fighting with each other constantly. Peter Quaife left 'The Kinks' in 1969 or in 1970. Eventually original drummer Mick Avery quit 'The Kinks' in 1984 because just too much (over the years as well) friction with Dave Davies.

For the most part, I didn't much care about most of these stories, it seems that most of the breakups and feuds were fueled by egos and insanity. Simon and Garfunkel's story is a sad one. The two were simply so good together musically. I don't think there's a S&G song that I don't enjoy and can't sing along too. The same can't be said about their solo efforts. CCR's is another sad and strange tale, but I've always sided with John. To me he was disrespected and stepped on. I'm glad he's still going strong.

John was a d*#%! He was ruthless about how every member had to play and would have incredible loud fits if they didn't adhere to his demands. I played in a band that opened for CCR a couple of times and was disillusioned from the get go by his antics backstage. John signed a very bad contract and finally left, he wasn't willing to keep together and get to the new contract where CCR would have all the leverage. Stevie Nicks wouldn’t have even been in her current position had it not been for Lyndsey Buckingham’s insistence on them being a double package when he was offered the spot of lead singer in Fleetwood Mac! How’s that for being supportive? Lindsey was actually quite abusive and unfaithful to Stevie. It took a lot for her to leave him but when he hit her, she left. Of course drugs were involved as well. My family was friends with Stevie’s parents growing up…before and during her fame.

@@Heartwing37 It goes all the way back to the beginning. The cover of their album Buckingham Nicks (which Fleetwood Mac heard, leading them to invite Lindsey and him to insist she come along) was shot with them in an artistic nude pose. Stevie was reportedly very much against the idea, but Lindsey kept insisting and she gave in.

Stevie nicks can write lyrics and she can create the vocal harmonies for those lyrics and that is all. If anybody can just pay attention to her actual recordings of songs like dreams and Rhiannon they could just pay attention to the music as it begins to play and say to themselves wait a minute that's exactly note for note what she's about to start singing. And that continued all throughout her time with Fleetwood mac. Even in her solo career in the song "stand back" once again you can hear note for note in the music what she's about to start singing. Because she cannot actually write music she's been forced to take the vocal Harmony and make it pass for the music. That's why Nick fleetwoods name is all over the writing credits for all of those Fleetwood Mac songs written by Stevie nicks. He had to come up with something because all she brought him was half complete songs of lyrics and vocal harmonies she would sing them to. They stuck with her even when during her first tours with them she was a huge liability in concert. Copy "Rolling Stone Fleetwood Mac Clicks without Nicks" and paste into a search engine.

First of all its Mick Fleetwood and he has NOTHING to do with Stevie's songs .His name isn't on any of her songs crediting him as co-writer.Its Lindsey who produces her songs and shapes them.Stevie writes lyrics and music with the few chords she knows how to play on piano and guitar. Her name is on all the songs she wrote by herself and a few she co-wrote like with Mike Campbell from the Heartbreakers.

Is it possible to put Stewart Copeland and Sting in the same room without WWIII breaking out? Honorable mention: Jello Biafra vs the rest of the Dead Kennedys, who sued him and won a bunch of $ over royalties

It's great when the world finally sees what an overrated bastard Crosby is. He's just glib and had good dope. He never wrote a good song (no he didn't write 8 Miles High) except with CSNY . Neil - 45 great songs, Steve Stills - 20, Crosby - Just watching

I've heard Crosby say in recent decades that he was an utter prick to be around, an arrogant one as well. So he has owned a bit of his shit behaviour. His drug addiction cost him guitars that he wished he still had and turned him into the twat that everyone knows him for.

Crosby did write a couple good songs. Check out the underrated CSN album from '77. He wrote Anything At All and In My Dreams and co-wrote Shadow Captain with Craig Deorge. Back in the early days of the group he wrote Long Time Gone.
