You know, Chad makes a great point about LIKING someone. You can love people you don't really like all that much (most families have at least one person in them that you love, but you don't actually like that much), but you definitely don't want to marry a person that you love but don't like. And, of course, vice versa. You don't want to marry someone that doesn't like YOU either -- recipe for disaster. And for me, liking and respect go hand in hand. If I don't respect you, I probably also don't like you very much.

Thanks so much for your content, you’re like the wiser, ‘older’ siblings I never had 💕☺️ Could you maybe share some advice about moving on from crushes? Like when you meet someone you really wanted to get to know better and feel like you really could have liked but then it never got to that because he (in my case haha) is moving around for his sport. I find it hard to let go even though rationally and objectively it doesn’t make sense because the truth is that I didn’t even know him that well yet. I just know I liked the things I did learn in this short time about him, but he never gave me anything to go on that he might have been interested in getting to know me too - at least beyond talking after church. The thing is that he was the first Christian guy I met I actually liked personality wise and that I was attracted to in what feels like forever. I’m trying to surrender it to Jesus and I want his will to be done, I don’t want to keep hoping to meet him again and for things to be different next time if that’s not what’s in Gods plan for me and for him. I feel like I’m trying everything to do the right thing and to trust God and let go for real but it feels so hard! Any advice? Thanks in advance 🧡

Question: these were your personal things on your “lists”, but the title is NON negotiable in dating… are these thing that are expected for everyone to have in order to be datable or just thing that you personally wanted? I mean, since everyone is different, personality wise… like being super social, wanting kids and a the amount of community.

I am not a Christian/intend to be one, but I do find your videos fun and interesting to watch to understand how Christian faith works. However, when you guys talk about a wife having to submit to her husband, you lose me. Why are women to respect their husbands more than viceversa? Why are men the leaders of the house? Why should we resist less to a man’s decisions than the other way around? I don’t get it. There’s more than enough modern scientific and empirical proof that there’s no need to treat women into ‘submission’.
@_Isaiah

I'll just leave this here, please read! 🙂 Ephesians 5:22-31 22 Wives, submit yourselves to your own husbands as you do to the Lord. 23 For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior. 24 Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything. 25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her 26 to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word, 27 and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless. 28 In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. 29 After all, no one ever hated their own body, but they feed and care for their body, just as Christ does the church- 30 for we are members of his body. 31 “For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.”
@JanWosegien

Hey Lea, I would say looking at Ephesians 5:22- 33 the tex goes beyond wifes submiting to husbands. If that was the only line there I would find that to be strange as well. Men are also called to submit - to God. That's a hard and painful process. In addition and I think most importantly one has to red vers 25 - 27 of that passage saying the following: Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word, and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless. Going off of that I would point out that the way we ought to love our wife is in a sacraficial and serving way which is nothing like persuasion in order to maintain the upper and, rather it is an example of Jesus' sacraficial love. I would genuinely love to hear your thoughts on that.

I understand it might be written in the bible, but I think Christians forget to look around the world around them (science, stats etc), and beyond what a book says, despite how much you respect it. Why shouldn’t men and women together, as a team, submit to your God? Instead of the order being God-Men-Women. Women are not ‘made’ for submission, they don’t just exist to serve a God through their husband, they have just as much right to make decisions as men I’d say? Can you give me a practical example of where women are lacking beyond physical strength? I can’t. The problem is - as soon as we see one person as being submissive to the other for whatever reason, discrimination/racism/inequality become an inevitable.

@@leavano Hey! I love that you're still following along this channel eventhough you're not a christian:) and that's a really good question you're asking!! I see how it's confusing. We def both need to submit to God & follow His lead. But the way it was laid out in the Bible (which we believe & follow) is that the man is supposed to lead the family. Buuut we don't follow just any man of course, only our spouse who has the best in mind for both of us and it's not like we don't have an opinion or a say. It's all a team effort for sure! I think when people truly love each other it's a beautiful thing to serve one another but imo it's not always that the man leads in every single situation, but he has extra responsibility to take care financially etc of the family.
@angelavanoosten1

And it's def not that we think men and woman don't have equal rights or are racist, if that's the case & they name it christianity that's a false portrayal of what God wants it to be. Hope that made any sense haha it's not like I know everything. Have a good day! Also funny we have the same last name which means you're probably a Dutchie too

Loved this! had I seen this when I started dating 😂 but of course I’m grateful where the lord has led me and the life he has given me with my husband of 13 years & 3 kids now 🥹 wouldn’t change it for the world. But this is all such great advise! ❤
