This tune is from some of the oldest of Hungarian folk music. Its characteristics are pentatonic, quin-alternation and a falling tune structure. At the same time, this piece shows the music of the old Ugrós (Jumping Dance), for which one could dance alone, in a pair or in a group. The hurdy-gurdy in the band does not play an accompaniment, but plays the tune, in the old way. Besides the violin, another solo instrument can also be heard- the Tamboura, which became wide-spread in these parts of Hungary, probably due to South Slavic influence. The Tamboura (or Tambura) is a lute-like instrument, with the strings being plucked.

Lyrics:
Hej, Dunáról fúj a szél,
Szegény embert mindig ér,
Dunáról fúj a szél.
Ha Dunáról nem fújna,
Ilyen hideg se volna,
Dunáról fúj a szél.
Hej, Dunáról fúj a szél,
Feküdj mellém majd nem ér,
Dunáról fúj a szél.
Nem fekszem én kend mellé,
Mer nem leszek a kendé,
Dunáról fúj a szél.
Hej, Dunáról fúj a szél,
Feküdj mellém majd nem ér,
Dunáról fúj a szél.
Nem fekszem én kend mellé,
Mert túl rövid a kendé,
Dunáról fúj a szél.
Hej, Jancsika, Jancsika,
Mért nem nőttél nagyobbra?
Dunáról fúj a szél.
Nőttél volna nagyobbra,
Lettél volna katona,
Dunáról fúj a szél.
