You are so lucky to land an estate sale company job. They are few and far between. And you are brilliant for vacuuming the place. Makes a huge impression that you are professional. Good luck with this venture

Garage Sweeping: wear a dust mask when sweeping out old garages and basements. I used to do such work when I was younger - you never know what’s in the air once you sweep such a place.

Hey Marcus, that glass in the kitchen, was worth, at least a couple bucks each. As was said, some was cut crystal. Not everyone saves the tags on the glass wear. Talk to property management companies, give out business cards. Go to each estate sale and hand out your card. You could have a saying "I am (Dumpster) Marcus. I go beyond what you pay." If you hire me you've hired the best. Or something along those lines. Please I heard what you said about salvation army and goodwill. Please don't donate to goodwill. They are corporate greed and don't care about their handicapped employees, nor the donations people give. I can tell you true stories about them. The stories are not nice but truth and real.

Don’t undervalue your time or the cost of fuel for all the driving involved with a clean out job. If it has a second floor, basement or several outbuildings there is more time involved just carrying items to the truck. Then u have the time to drive to and from the dump, dump fees and the time to drive to donate what you can. Some thrift stores are selective, so you have to learn what can be donated in each location. Lots of time involved just driving and unloading. As you travel further for each job, learn the location of other dumps, recycling centers and thrift stores because bringing it all back to your usual places can be a real time suck on big jobs, further from home.

@@DumpsterMarcus Good Plan. It's the long term relationships in that business that keeps the work coming in.
