Hey Randy, before you change the gear in the cluster or change the speed sensor look into getting a DIP chip for your DRAC module. Your DRAC module is found behind the glovebox in the dash and take the speed output from your transmission and converts it to the speedometer. With the DIP switch you can adjust the speed on the speedometer by simply switching a few tiny switch on the chip. Their is a website you can use to calculate what switches need switched based on wheel size, tire size, and gear ratio.

I think that whole front row in the front of the house should go bye-bye with exception of the Monte. Carlo as far as dumping the Buick I would think twice about that because once you get that car right the new wheels and everything the car is going to be worth some coin. You're never going to lose money on that car I don't believe and I agree I like that little cavalier and with the truck there is an ass for every seat. Once you get that thing straight you shouldn't get hurt The one thing I was curious about where the drive shaft goes in through the seal it looks like there's a taper. It may have been just camera angle but I don't know oh I forgot to mention. Sorry about that. Mustang is just butt ugly. The drive gear for speedo isn't very expensive either. If all else fails I would just call blueprint and see what they would do for you. You might be in better hands. Santa's workshop could help out? For the loudness of the exhaust, I would get some turbo mufflers to put on it. Nice rumble but not overly loud. Rear seal isn't hard to change.

It's the things you don't see that really shows the workmanship of a shop. The person that bought all the new components for this rig spent a lot of money, and even more to have a "professional" shop do the install. When you showed the tore up balancer I couldn't believe what I was seeing. If that was my pickup I would have went ballistic. What a hack shop. The fuel lines need to be removed from front to back and completely redone. I'm surprised they even took the time to put a rubber grommet in the frame rail.

Very cool truck! Pull the driveshaft out and clean/polish the yolk. It looks like it sat for a while and the yolk ended up with surface rust. Then as you drive the truck and the yolk moves in and out of the transmission, it slowly wears the seal and started leaking. Clean up yolk, replace seal, good to go. Or I'll be happy to give you your money back for it and bring her out to N.C.

That fuel pump is overkill for a carburetor. They could have saved themselves a bunch labor and used the stock in tank pump along with most the stock steel fuel line fuel line and return line. They just did not know how to wire it to activate the factory pump. Literally one wire from the tach off the distributor to a purple/white wire the original distributor had in a flat 4 connector.

This time of year always reminds me of a joke I heard when I worked in the local coal mine. It went like this: Church of England worshipper dies and goes to heaven. He's met at the pearly gates by St Peter. 'Come on in my dear chap, you've made it to the top table, let me show you around'. The place resembles Derbyshire, Devon, Cornwall, and the Lake District all wrapped up together. Suddenly, they come up to a wall a hundred feet high. 'Why is there a wall?' asks the Englishman. 'It's there for your protection' says St Pete, 'On the other side are members of the religion whose name we dare not speak, and everyone knows that if you don't worship their God, they will kill you'. The Englishman nods sagely and they walk further and come to another wall. 'Is that for our protection too?' asks the Englishman. 'No' says St Pete, 'They're Catholics, the problem is; they think they're the only ones up here.'

The driveshaft is to short. It is leaking through the inside of yoak. There is a cup mounted on the output shaft with a big O-ring inside tailshaft housing and yoak pushes into it. The fuel pump is mounted way to far from the tank outlet, fuel pumps don't suck well. Thats why its not called a suck. Also if they left the factory pump inside tank, not wired up it would make the frame rail mounted pump have to suck through that old pump.

I understand why you would consider moving the Grand National down the road at some point. They can be real finnicky, from what I've seen. The technology back then wasn't the best. Oh, sure, when everything is all set up, and tuned, they are fast. I just don't think it would be as reliable, and as fun to own, as a carbureted 383 Stroker. That Monte Carlo is going to be a BEAST! I'd be curious to see just how far that driveshaft slip yoke goes into the tail shaft housing on the Chevy truck. I'm with you when you said it could stand to go in another couple of inches. That rubber fuel line setup is pretty crappy. I should be hard lines. Whoever did that didn't know what they were doing. I know you will get it straightened out. Same with the power steering bracket rubbing on the balancer. You can probably get by with just some grinding to relieve it, most likely. It should be fine with the Blue Devil in it now. I think it's a cool truck, all in all. Great video Man! Happy Hanukkah to you and your family!

@autoauctionrebuilds 14:14 This is the second time I’ve seen these mufflers pop up this week. I was watching another video that had Flowmaster looking mufflers and that car (69 Cougar with a 390) sounded kind of like a tug boat. He referred to the mufflers as ChoMasters. Your truck sounds amazing with those mufflers! Looks like they could be Elshine mufflers off of Amazon which is a little puzzling since they didn’t cheap out on anything else. The Elshine mufflers are $31.99 each. As far as the g-body dilemma is concerned. I’d love for you to drive your GN with injectors, a turbo upgrade (nothing crazy) a front mount or a nice stock location intercooler; a Razors Alky kit, a matching chip with 20-22psi after you drive the Monte Carlo with the 500hpn383 stroker. I think that will make your decision much easier. With how inexpensive your Monte Carlo SS in comparison with your GN I see the dilemma.

You need Upper and Lower Intake gaskets for sure. Intake gaskets can cause exhaust bubbles. Please try and change the Upper and Lowe intake gaskets. This is not head gaskets.
