From what I read you did good. You gave us an overview of your apartment but didn't tell us everything you had in your apartment. Thank you. Good job.

This is massive for Tokyo and very nice. What ward are you in and how old is the building? I lived in Japan for quite some time and had four different apartments over the years. Even when fluent in Japanese (which for anyone reading this, allows many more options and dodges the "gaijin tax"), it's almost unheard of to find anything this nice for that cheap in central Tokyo where it's impossible to be more than a 15 minute walk from a station.

I used GoGoNihon to find a school. They make the process easier because they help you, but overall moving countries isn't really easy for many reasons.

That price for central Tokyo?? This must be out in Adachi or Tachikawa

Where can i find such apartment in Tokyo? What agency did you use and what specific place? My rent in Tokyo is over 1000-2000$ here even though it's small due to the place. I want to save money 😢

I used suumo to look for apartments. I don’t think the agency matters. You just give them a budget and they’ll look for places that you want for that price.

It's 380 a month right? I'm considering moving to a larger city, maybe Tokyo, osaka or Kyoto, but I dunno which would be the best for a foreigner
@AngiesTokyoDiary
Жыл бұрын
Yep! I think rent in cities like Kyoto and Osaka would be a bit more affordable depending on the area. Considering which place is better for a foreigner, I think you should just choose which city you like the most. There will be ups and downs anywhere in Japan as a foreigner.

There’s not much of a catch. Things are just way cheaper in Japan especially since the exchange rate is falling. It’s probably more on the outskirts rather than in a popular district.

This appt looks really spacious and charming! Is it really $380/mo? Because comparing to the spaces that @MyMicroAppartmentLife shows, it is rather $380/week 😅
