This is amazing free content. Thank you from a guy who has lost all touch and ability around the greens due to family life. This content is gold and be done in the garden at home.

I love the t rex drill. Was playing about with it on the course this evening. Couldnt remember where I'd seen it till watching this. It even works really well with longer clubs for chipping out from the trees😂

Right arm only drill has helped me massively over the years with my chipping. I even played for 2 years chipping right arm only and my short game was a lot better than with both hands on the club!

Thanks for the videos James! 🐐 What’s your best tip for those who take the club too far inside on the back swing?
@JamesRidyardGolf
Жыл бұрын
It's only too far inside if you can't get back to the ball. Beyond that if you can learn to keep the wrists quiet try feeling the left shoulder move down toward the left foot. You'll see the clubhead move up vs in really fast

Great drills thank you. Interestingly I was trying out your “easiest bunker drill” and found it quite revealing regarding my slight shift of weight back to my right trail side which caused a poor bunker shot due to poor depth control and hence too much sand. This is not immediately noticeable on the chip because the bounce hides the problem. I have corrected the issue and have nice crisp contact now. The reason for telling you this is that trying to control the depth in the bunker has great cross over benefits.

Thanks for the content James, it’s really helping me to understand the chipping action and I am using the drills in practice. Would it be possible to do a video demonstrating what to do from a variety of different lies and distances from the putting surface? I’m thinking of a ‘if you get this…do this’ session.

Hi James. I have been noticing from all of your videos that you set up with your trail foreman externally rotated. For me at least, the more I get the feel of this, the easier it is to hit pitches. Perhaps this is a future short video topic? Thank you.

Really enjoying your content James. Your technique has helped me even with my full swing as I’m treating everything as a big pitch! Does that make sense or am I going to come unstuck?
@JamesRidyardGolf
Жыл бұрын
Thanks. That really depends, if a swing has issues with being overly long or clubface being too open that could really work well. Feel is rarely real and it might be the perfect feel for you.

Hi James, my favourite tip is your Total Golf Trainer yips one where the right arm stays in contact with the Trainer on the trail hip at 20 degrees during the pivot! What faults does this fix and why does it work so well? Thanks for all your tips!
@JamesRidyardGolf
Жыл бұрын
That drill slows your arms right down and forces you to speed up your pivot! A much easier way to get the club/ground contact that we're looking for

Great content as always, I like to choke way down on wedges - thoughts on that?
@JamesRidyardGolf
Жыл бұрын
Its probably not my preference as I like the elbows to stay unlocked which is hard when choking down. If it provides comfort and confidence though you are right to do it

James in the last drill the alignment stick drill is the stick that’s on the ground not normal length of an alignment stick or is it shorter? Great drill!! Thanks.
@GameImprovementGolf

Well think figured this out. Stick on the ground probably close to length of your wedge something like 3 feet can see that from the video. 😀

Depends on what's creating the yip, I'd suggest right arm only and t rex from this video
