Ajvar is available in the USA in most cities which have Balkan or Middle Eastern populations. The local stores which sell to those people carry Ajvar, but unfortunately it's not home made, and the quality varies from one brand to another.

Hi Charles, first of all thanks for all good things you have said about my country and people in Serbia. From time to time I get disappointed in lots of things but you're channel is for me some sort of therapy and source of good vibes. Thanks on that too. I have one recommendation for you: try Mama's ajvar, one with the black label (white label is hot). It is closest to home made ajvar you can buy in stores. lamamma.co.nz/wp-content/uploads/2014/03/107-Mamas-Ajvar-700g.jpg

Don't worry Charles... I can't say Trstenik either and I'm Serbian Australian and English is my second language LOL! I'm Australian born but spoke Serbian first and then English. I have trouble saying Lj in Ljubica... my poor Teta Ljubica cops it, when I try to say her name. She tries to teach me to say Lj, however, I fail miserably. She divides her time between Višnjićevo, Srem, Serbia and Sydney or Melbourne, Australia. Good luck on your Serbian journey ;-) Keep salty food down to a minimum Charles.... big problem in Serbia with kidneys and salt. My Baba Vidasava and her brother, died from kidneys failure. My Tata and my Ceko Vlado had cancer on their kidneys and my Tata has no kidneys now and is on constant dialysis. So be careful! Prosciutto, duvan čvarci and other pork salty products in moderation ;-) Best pork products is from Srem, by the way!

First: you can't learn that accent of yours no matter how hard you try as Serbian- to those that say you are Serbian and just faking American origin , Serbs will always have that slavic- stronk accent. Second have you ever tried frying onion, eggs and ajvar ? That is crazy good and simple, heat up oil in pan- same amount as you put when you fry eggs, put two-tree eggs , chop half onion and 3-4 full spoons of ajvar , you put all that in same time in pan, fry it couple mins until eggs are done and mix it while you fry . You can also fry onion a little before you put eggs and ajvar if you like that, but not necessary. You will know its done when eggs stiffs. With some bread , yogurt or fetta salty chese you have simple and delicious meal. You fry lower quality ajvar from markets with eggs to still make it good btw.
