Braniac was engineered as a master overmind AI for a militaristic expansionist empire. What's Waller's Excuse? And that's honestly what makes Waller so scary. Even next to a black ops team of supervillains, she's still one of, if not the darkest soul in the room. She represents the dark sides of the United States Government's intelligence and defense sectors. Her villainy is inspired from sources all too real. It's in how plausible and mundane her evil is that she unsettles the audience.

This episode is very important thematically and emotionally. This is a mission undertaken out of love. With the main support being a pair of couples. And of course Jimmy emptied out his account. This is a Hail Mary longshot to save Clark and Kara. To help Lois. For them, whatever he can do. Also, this helps set up Intergang to continue being a status quo filling issue at minimum. Sure, they helped jack the ship, but all that high tech materiel.... could come back into play when the dust from major events settles. Intergang was a one time ally, but they're still a criminal group with access to highly advanced combat tech known to have dangerous reliability problems at times.

All I have to say is this. If someone is willing to go into the vastness of space in an untested FTL capable spaceship, to find/rescue you, they are a keeper. If that same someone is willing to do so knowing that the one captured is a superpowered one man army, they are not only a keeper they are someone you should not let go. Lois and Jimmy have earned full relationship cred with me. I fully ship Lois x Clarke and Kara x Jimmy

You know the world we live in is shitty when even Superman fans, the most wholesome super hero out there, have toxic “fans” making dramatic hyperbolic statements. This episode was great in my opinion, yeah it has issues, but to call it filer or the worst episode of this show is extreme. I think I have a good ideal as to why certain people really didn’t like this episode. 🙄

'Filler' is up there with 'Mary Sue' as one of the most overly used and incorrect terms used today. It's up there with spelling 'lose' with two 'o's. I didn't know when it started and I'm afraid it's never going to stop happening.

I say someone speculating about how the story would shift if you swapped the order of this episode and the last one. Possibly being more tense with Lois' fear and aggression making more sense without having seen Kara being herself with Clark and a puppet on Thanagar.

This episode, while not as good as the previous, is a good episode. Superman isn't even in this episode beyond his image being used and him being mentioned. Of course, Amanda Waller takes advantage of the situation to tarnish Superman's good name and use her human defense Corp to take over Metropolis. As if I needed more of a reason to hate Amanda Waller. Fortunately, I don't think that the people of Metropolis buy her propaganda against Superman. Unfortunately, when someone tries to discredit her claim, Amanda dismissed it and silenced those who disagree with her. Lois is obviously still dealing with the break-up that she caused. She's determined to do whatever it takes to make things right with Clark, even if it means teaming up with Livewire to steal a spaceship from S.T.A.R labs. Of course, Jimmy has to be the one to pay her. I was bit surprised that he used up all of his remaining money to hire Livewire, but it shows what he's willing to do for his best friend. You even see that Jimmy does live by what Superman stands for. It's both surprising and unsurprising that Livewire and Heat Wave are a couple. Nice to see Mallah and the Brain return to help. It is such a shame that all the planning doesn't go according to plan. The part I didn't like but is still good for Lois' character development is how she feels about Kara. Lois just is angry at Kara to the point that she's willing to use kryptonite against her. If only she knew that Clark and Kara bonded. Jimmy was right about the situation with Kara not being so simple, and it makes sense since he actually spent time to get to know her. Lois doesn't really know anything about Kara, and Jimmy called Lois out on behaving just like Sam did with Superman. Lois just saw Kara as the enemy without really knowing her, just like Sam did with Superman during season 1. Interestingly enough, just as Sam was willing to at least try to see Superman's humanity, Lois was willing to at least try to give Kara a chance, even if it takes some convincing from Jimmy. It's understandable why Lois is just lashing out at Kara when she's still hurting from her last conversation with Clark, but we the audience know that Clark wouldn't be happy if Lois used kryptonite against his cousin. It's also weird to see Livewire give Lois love advice, but Livewire and Heat Wave make a nice couple. Apparently she overhead what Lois said and seems to know about Lois having feelings for Superman. Hopefully, Livewire didn't hear the parts about Clark. The tension of this episode is lessened because we know Lois, Jimmy, Mallah, and the Brain make it into space, but it's still nice to see how they got there. We also see more of Deathstroke's rivalry with not only Livewire, but with Lex Luthor. Amanda Waller seems to be favoring Lex over Slade. Now Lois is aware of Jimmy having feelings for Kara, and the episode ends the same way as the previous one, with Lois and Jimmy finding Kara. I really hope that they can put aside their differences to save Superman.

Ironic that they’re doing an episode that may be inspired by DC’s new storyline Absolute Power. Also this is the first episode without Superman. A good filler episode.
