In this video, I am showing you some of the dishes that I keep in my kitchen and on my shelves, other than the ones I showed you in the previous video of 'Cupboard dishes'.
The dishes in the kitchen are the ones that we use almost every day. The plates in the shelves are for special occasions and parties, such as guests, New Year Day and celebrations.
I have antique tableware from flea markets and from my friends who are professional buyers, cutlery and other useful Japanese dishes that I brought back from Japan, as well as some plates that I made myself while learning how to make pottery. It turns out that we have a lot more plates than we thought!
In response to requests, we've also included a little bit about our cats and how we have our meals using the dishes we've introduced.
We hope you enjoy this video!
Broccoli and blue cheese soup
Ingredients (for about 4 persons)
1 broccoli (about 300g)
1/2 onion
1/3 leeks
1 small potato
250ml water
1 tsp chicken broth
70g blue cheese
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp butter
1/3 teaspoon salt (adjust as the cheese is very salty)
A pinch of pepper
Preparation
1 Cut off the stem of the broccoli, peel off the skin and dice it. Separate the buds into small bunches, cut off the smaller stems and dice. Lightly cut the buds into pieces.
2 Finely chop the onions and leeks and dice the potatoes into 1 cm pieces.
3 Put the olive oil in a saucepan and fry the onion over a low heat until transparent.
4 Add the potatoes, leeks, broccoli stalks and butter to the pan and fry over a low heat for 5 minutes to draw out the moisture from the vegetables.
5 Add water, chicken broth and broccoli buds to the pan and increase heat to high.
6 When it comes to the boil, reduce the heat to low, cover with a lid and simmer for about 10 minutes until the vegetables are tender.
7 Add it in a blender and process until smooth.
8 Melt together the blue cheese, except for the garnish, and add salt and pepper to taste.
9 Serve the soup in a bowl, topped with the remaining blue cheese.
