Hi Vicki. You know if I did Bachelor and Master degree in Spain, Can I apply for assistant psychologist in UK? What steps I have to follow? Thanks.

I'm not entirely sure! From what I've seen, a lot of AP roles require a BPS accredited psychology degree. There's a chance it might vary depending on service/company. I'd recommend looking at AP roles on job search websites. Read the person specification and email/call the person of contact listed to get clarification. Sorry I can't be more helpful!

Hi! I'm an overseas applicant with an interview for an AP post and I would recommend getting accredited by the BPS before applying to any jobs, and then look out for jobs on the NHS website, especially the ones that welcome applications from applicants that require a Certificate of Sponsorship for the Health and Care Worker Visa (Tier 2). Hope this helps!

@@michellecuadros3839 Hi! I'm from the Philippines and is currently taking a Bachelor's degree in Psychology. How long did it took for you to get accredited by the BPS? Thank you in advance :)

Hey, I recently had an assistant psychologist interview - my first one. Today I received a call saying I’ve passed stage one and will now move on to stage 2 interview with the CEO. Any ideas as to what I should expect . Any tips/advice

Congrats Gary, that's fantastic news! Tbh I've never done an AP interview with a CEO so I wouldn't know what to expect but I'd look into the company values/history as well as client group (I'm guessing it's not an NHS interview if you're interviewing with the CEO). I'd personally look into the CEO as well. If your CEO isn't a clinician, I'm guessing they may be less likely to ask a lot of intense questions on psychological theory/research and may be more focused on whether you're a right fit for the company. All the best with stage 2! :)

I am 34 applying for similar jobs (more along the lines of Research Assistant) and was wondering whether age is a hindrance. This process is so tiring

Hi, as far as I'm aware, technically age shouldn't be a hindrance. If anything, having more life/professional experience to reflect on may benefit you. I can't comment on RA jobs as I've never worked in a RA role beyond an honorary/voluntary capacity. I completely get that it can be exhausting and I hope you're prioritising your wellbeing during this difficult process.
