I'm glad to hear they figured it out. I'm taking the Petros Rig in on Thursday to get the "Lurch" recall taken care of, which evidently took a few years of analyzing code to figure out, but hey, it's supposed to stop moving once you put it in park after the fix, so that'll be nice.

Happy to hear they stood behind their product and went over and across the pond to fix it. Looking forward to more updates.

It may have taken a long time but shout out to Mercedes for running the problem to ground. Wow, that was a lot of work. Now build an amazing travel van!

So, I just posted about this last week with photos on Sprinter Source because I have the exact same squeek. My van has 150 miles on it and please let me know if you fixed it or if the dealer fixed it.. and how they fixed it.. Was all that extra panel bond from the dealer?
@thebatlwgn
Жыл бұрын
Yep that was all the dealer. It’s a warranty issue.

We have a fleet of the Mercedes sprinters for work. I can honestly say I will never buy one or recommend them. We have had constant electrical problems such as windows not working, active brake assist failures, computer modules failing, computers rebooting while driving, computers locking vehicles in limp mode, electric transmission not going into park or reverse. We also had mechanical issues with doors not staying completely closed and coming ajar while driving, fuel pump failures, windshield wiper arm failures, improper door alignments. In my local fleet there are five of these vans and every one of them are all constantly going in for repairs that the dealership says they can't find or recreate. I like being able to stand up fully in the back to work out of. That is the only beneficial thing I can say about the sprinter. These things are giant turds. I have named mine G.C. or the great constipation because it tries to go but can't.

@@thebatlwgn I love the easy access for repairs, but also the look that’s just my rustic vibe thought I’d throw it out there. I guess it would look probably 100% better in a off grid cabin than a the van but you catch my drift 😆

@@thebatlwgn with duels if you lose one, you still drive (notice all the gators on the road?) The big benefit to a super single in a commercial vehicle is reduced weight, meaning more useful load at max legal gross. Now it would have better contact patch which might be nice in somewhere like Pismo beach or death valley.
