I gave birth to my beautiful baby boy, Cash on May 4th, 2022. He was born 8lbs 2.2oz at 7:22 am.
My whole pregnancy I planned for a positive home birth. While I spent the majority of my labor at home, I ended up finding myself in an emergency situation that required me to move to a hospital for the safety of my baby. Although I grieve my home birth and hope to try again with my next pregnancy, I am grateful to have had a safe delivery of my boy.
Labor -
For two weeks prior to labor, I experienced what is known as "prodromal labor". This exhausted me all the way up until I went into true labor. When I finally I was in labor, it lasted a total of 35hrs. Contractions started 1 every 3 minutes and continued at that pace my entire labor (Crazy right??). Laboring at home was a painless and positive experience for me. My S/O was by my side the entire time and helped me through every single contraction. When I learned about our emergency, my heart knew that we needed to get to a hospital to delivery our baby as soon as possible.
Mamas -
Birth is a beautiful, amazing thing that every women experiences differently. Please listen to my story lightly, as this is my own experience. Whatever you need to do or decide as mom to get your baby into this world safely is most important. Your experience is your own and nobody can tell you what is right or wrong for you and your baby.
