Sorry, I think I meant to say I increased the POSITIVE incidence on the tail (more down elevator effectively)

Almost a shame to fly that without clouds in the back ground.

information. for a 'normal' airframe, cg should be located at Thirty percent of chord. for an abnormal design, a bit forward of thirty, is a good idea. ONCE the cg is correctly located, then TRIM the horiz-stab, for the desired cruising-flight attitude. at :12, this silly Antique design appears to have, 1) a lot of positive aoa at the wing mount, and 2) permanent tail-heaviness, in its dom. distribution of mass. it is NOT clear where the ballast has been Located. ballast should Not be located 'too far from' the thrust line.! googletranslate

Thanks for the input, David. Ballast is a strip of lead under the undercarriage crosspiece. The real aircraft isn't a "silly antique design" at all, it's a milestone of powered flight, and a beautiful one at that. Some better flights of my model version are here: kzitem.info/news/bejne/q5-Lzp5tsaeqiWU

A really excellent model, well done. Even to this date I think it's one of the most beautiful aircraft designs , the high angle of attack and under camber meant it could fly at extremely slow speeds. Not for windy days but useful if you messed up a landing. I heard Bleriot had about 200 crashes; each time he would throw himself onto the wing to break his fall. Later his wife stopped him flying!
