I’ve never seen a reactor figure that out immediately. And I’ve never thought about the double meaning with him “pulling his pen”. I caught the grenade meaning which is pretty evident but you’re probably right that it means so much more! He pulls out his pen to help slay these demons for himself and for his fans. Love your take on these vids.

Throughout Tyler’s music he’s very clever with his wordplay & metaphors. These are paraphrased, so there’s no need to tell me lyrics are incorrect! ❤️❤️🙂 Ms. Believer=miss believer as in you don’t believe and not a person by that name. …take this weapon forged in darkness; some see a pen, I see a harpoon …out of student loans or treehouse homes, we would choose the “ladder” but sounds just like “latter” Uses “I” when he means “eye” in at least one song. My point is that he’s stated how he let’s us interpret his lyrics on our own…Kitchen Sink. Many can interpret and see a double entendre.

Wow, you are so perceptive, figuring out that the brother was not real. I remember Josh saying that Fight club was one of his favourite movies, so I think this mv was inspired by that film. To me this song is about the strong bond you have with your family. Last Christmas I gave my husband and my three kids a bracelet with the quote I'll go with you, symbolizing that No matter what, I'll be there for you ❤
@SuffiReax

That is very cool that his favorite movie is fight club and that is the one that came to mind while watching this haha But yes I also like the message of being there for your family and supporting/protecting them from whatever might be "calling your name at the end of the driveway"

The line: "Stay with me my blood; you don't need to run " is at leats a tripple entendre. Surely he's speeking to the fans in a way and also his real brother comes to my mind. But also I feel like there's a lot of blurry face in that. Tylers voice is not vocoded and pitched down like it often is when he's channeling blurry face but the falcetto changes his voice drastically as well and I feel like changing the tone of his voice like that is always a sign for blurry face speaking. If you look at the video from that perspective it becomes some sort of an origin story of something at least compareable to blurry face if not blurry face himself. The third thing, and that was the first thing I thought about when I heard that song, is self-harm. So literally running blood. Stay with me my blood; you don't need to run. What a line! Edit: I listend to the chorus again and I'm quite positive that there actually IS a pitched down voice mixed under the main vocals!
@SuffiReax
4 жыл бұрын
I was thinking that too, about the self harm. I started saying it in the beginning of the video and then got side tracked and then didn't return to that thought haha but towards the beginning I said something like "saying my blood could either mean" and I said one possibility and forgot to return to the other which was self harm. Very interesting points though! I definitely missed all that, thanks for sharing

Love watching reactions to this to see how confused people are at the end and to see their interpretation. I have never seen anyone get it before the end!!! You really see into this stuff! I also looked at it as the inner part of himself rebelling from the trauma in his life. The video idea actually came from a real event in a friend or some such of Tyler’s, when a brother stuck up for his sibling but I really like the idea that trauma in your life can split your personality and make you act out in ways you normally wouldn’t. It’s a deep video.

I'll pull my pin. Just because we checked the guns at the door doesn't mean our brains will change, from hand grenades. If it's pen, then that is a reference to his pen being a harpoon in ode to sleep. Chances are with Tyler it is both at the same time. Out of student loans and treehouse homes we all would take the latt(dd)er. I look forward to heaven/having a lunch with you again. Tyler actually mentioned in an interview that this song was inspired by a story he heard about 3 boys(Who’s relation to each other I forget in the story) which was a very similar story to this one. Difference is, in this there are only 2 boys depicted and one isn’t real. Along with that, Tyler mentioned that in the story, the more confident boy always had a big mouth and would get himself into trouble. So much trouble so that a bunch of kids from school showed up at his house to beat him up. In the story, the more quiet and non-social boy secretly knew how to fight and he beat up all of the guys who were there to beat the other boy up. I forget what the last boy had to do with the story but, it’s mostly focused on the other two. The reason Tyler mentions grabbing his bat is because in the interview he says something along the lines of “And I was thinking…if I were to do that, I would need a weapon like a bat or something because I can’t fight” lol. Tyler obviously added more meaning to the story somewhere with one of boys being an imagination and with them being depicted as brothers in the video, hence the name “My Blood”. In the end, Tyler’s version of the story is more about fighting for family even if it means coming out of your comfort zone.

Suffi Reax I grew up on country (80s and 90s country) and George strait is probably my favorite. I grew up in Tennessee and Alan Jackson has a house close to where my mom lives and my step dad used to see him all the time locally. So, Falling in Reverse does have quite a bit of swearing in their music and also has some lyrics that could be offensive to Christians. I’m Christian as well and it doesn’t bother me too much, I don’t have issue separating my personal beliefs from others, I absolutely will not let my kids listen to it though, so I just want to put that out there. I don’t want you to be uncomfortable listening to anything.
