Being instructed by your doctor to "just take an edible" while a part of your body is literally tearing apart, is possibly the most LA thing I've ever heard. Ending that entire trainwreck of a surgery story with praising the doctor for taking you seriously and making you a priority, when he clearly didn't AT ALL, is so American healthcare that I could barely handle it! I know this was probably surgery that was never going to be covered by healthcare/insurance, but that's not the point there; the point is your standard of quality care!!! That doctor sounds SO unprofessional! Ya'll deserve better!
@ayshnitandon6293
29 күн бұрын
You’re totally right but I’d also like to mention that the best hospitals and medical care in the world are also in America. If you’re not getting treated well by your doc and ur in the U.S., don’t right it off as just “the way things are” here. There are BETTER OPTIONS and you DESERVE QUALITY CARE
@ChiiKitten
29 күн бұрын
@@ayshnitandon6293 It doesn't really matter where the top world hospitals are, if the GENERAL STANDARD is so low that people accept care like that as being good or even acceptable. Again, she PRAISES this doctor. She thinks this was GOOD and ATTENTIVE CARE. And this is someone with money enough for elective surgery, which the majority of the American population sure as shit don't have.

My mom had to have a hysterectomy (precancerous uterine lining) and when she went back for a check in a few days later my dad watched her pelvic area (vertical incision) just slowly open up - her body rejected the stitches. Had no idea that was a thing that could happen. A nurse ended up creating a bandage “corset” so it could stick to both sides of the incision and then be laced shut. My dad had to clean and pack the wound every other day until it healed up (but it did gradually close - the body is an amazing thing). The stuff of horror movies! I’m sorry this happened to you but I’m glad you’re doing better.

My pain feels like someone is skinning my heel , even w pain meds. I feel like it was meant for me to see your post on IG because I was thinking the past few days if I was able to handle my foot surgery, would I be able to handle a breast reduction surgery? I told my primary dr that once I recovered I want to heal the rest of my body too which includes neck and back pain I’ve dealt with most of my life. Big boobs run in my family and even when I lost weight before, they were still big. Anyways this gives me a lot to think about but the change I see looks awesome and I’m glad you’re starting to feel better. I'm curious to know where the drain was located, because my doctor said the drain is not necessary for breast reductions. I'm wondering if the presence of the drain affected your healing. I didn't have any pain either really, just felt really sore. I stopped taking the prescribed pain meds almost immediately because I hated how they made me feel. Constipated and really out of it lol.

I did the same surgery but on both sides as a young adult because of back problems, that was fifteen years ago. In my case the surgery in itself, except for one part underneath the left breast that left a weird tiny patch of skin near the scar folded onto itself where lint gets sometimes stuck in, I had little to no liquid in the drainage bottles, and had no problems with the stitches either. I stayed at the clinic for about two days (it was done at a private clinic), with a roommate that was in for something else entirely. Because I had both sides done, I had drainage on both sides and the nurse stuck them to the underside of the hospital bed. I laid on my back in that bed with a lot of pain as soon as I shuffled around to get comfortable somewhat, I had the compression socks that whole while. I couldn't go to the bathroom unless someone, my family or a nurse was in the room to untie the drainage bottles from underneath the bed, and because that didn't happen often, I had to hold my urges in, I couldn't really sleep (because sleeping on my back is also not my preferred sleeping position), the compression socks would drive me crazy because I could feel my legs being itchy/achy from them. It was a learning curve to relearn my new center of gravity too, and changing the bandages for the next month or two was a lot of work, but the two days being tied a hospital bed, that was the stuff of nightmare for me. And while I am happy I don't have the same chest size and weight causing me further back pain, I still have back pains from years of slouching forward to minimize the attention I could get because of my breasts. It's still not very aesthetically pleasing to have huge scars underneath them, but there isn't much I can do after such a long time.

I had a breast reduction. And no one ever warned me about the crap I went through. I felt a poking sensation and it was literally hard wires poking out. My T line incision opened up and scarred horrendously. My breasts are embarrassing. My nipples ? 😂😅🤣 Scars all around them because the damn stitches kept ripping. I wish I would have just kept the large knockers. I literally saw the surgeon TWICE. Once for my consultation and during surgery. I never saw him again. Even when I was having issues opening up. I saw his damn assistant. Or nurse practioner. He never fixed anything and when I complained nothing was said. Just that it would heal. I wish I could afford for someone to fix it. Smh. Insurance paid for it the first time. 😢

Thank you so much for this video. I am in the same boat with your past experience. I did my breast reduction (lollipop scar) surgery 2 weeks ago. On day 4 post-op, my right breast showed a rash; the next day, it developed into a wound right on top of my incision line that is going down. I have seen the doctor 3 times after taking out my stitches, and he keeps saying it's closing, but I see no difference. My surgeon hasn't suggested a revision because, in his judgment, it's a normal case but rare. To say I am depressed would be an understatement. I would like to know how long it took your wound to close up after everything your surgeon did? I think the most depressing part is that there isn't much content on YT about breast reduction post-op complication and wounds. If you know any channels I could check out for these kinds of problems, please let me know.
