For how long was this in use before this happened? Did you use it for blending thick and heavy stuff, or? Thanks.

Just a couple of weeks. The major issue I run into is it overheats a lot, then the motor gets fried. I make a lot of nut butters and heavy stuff. But if you spend 800 on blender, it should be able to handle it..

Thanks for the info. Hell yeah for that kinda of money you would think such problems wouldn't exist.. :O@@dimitrikrazy

blendtec has parts made in several countries, but they are not cheap parts made in countries where the workmanship is bad, tom dickson the owner of blendtec has already made it clear that he never uses chinese parts

What’s wrong?

Blendtec replaced it for me because it was still under warranty. The motor got fried. They don't make their blenders well enough without overheating. Especially if you are blending something thick or heavy

Do you recommend this mixer??

I would go with the top of the line vitamix instead. I have like 3 blenders.
