I still love my DS2H I bought while we were doing Zoom lessons. Very grateful for your expertise during the purchase. Being able to send you photos, and ask numerous questions, was worth its weight in gold. The guitar has only opened more since it came my way and the tone is heavenly. Glad to see you in good health Andy. Shawn in Georgia

Hi Shawn, Thanks to you , I've been doing my one-to-one zooms for some time now, although lock down time was the busiest. Maybe we should hookup via zoom for a chat?

Wishing you and yours are safe and healthy Mr. Andy! Thank you for giving me the courage to re-grow my own, though less illustrious, silly mustache. A Waterloo is my current dream guitar and I feel as though one can’t go wrong when choosing between Collings. Cheers from across the pond!

Hi Tucker, I have a Waterloo, WL12, which is remarkably loud. ere in the UK and in the EU Waterloos are as rare a hen's teeth.

Hello Andy, years ago when you first demo'd your ds2h, I was intrigued enough to inquire about a new one being sold by Soundpure..ended up buying it..and I also bought a Santa Cruz D12, that is very similar to your ds1..still have them..

Hi Ken, when I was first introduced to my first DS2h in '99 a SCGC D12 was also offered. Fine guitar but, like the Martin 12fret it had a 1 & 3/4" nut width, whereas the Collings suited my hands better. I have a SC guitar now - my "RS" with a 1 & 13/126" nut width. Thanks as always for watching.

Loving the yellow Andy, very spring-like! Lovely to hear you as always, and to see some of your collection. Clearly requested by some! But I will admit to enjoying your musical musings more; songs from your repertoire, why you chose or adapted them as you have, and what grabs your attention in a song. All good of course - I do look forward to your weekly missive! Just wanted to add my voice to the conversation ☺️ All the best, and have a good week.

Hi, (remind me of your real name!) . Thanks for this. I thought I had pretty much gone through my "repertoire", but this throws another light on things, so I will take your suggestion very seriously and try to make some vids about the songs I like to do, and what they mean to me. Thanks , ol'Andy.

@@SillyMoustache Tom 🙂 Ultimately I think all your subscribers love fancy guitars, but it’s your insight into performing that I particularly value!

Two great guitars there. I like them both. I have a pair of 000 Collings in Rosewood and Mahogany and find that I prefer the voice of the Rosewood. Thanks for the presentation.

I would love either one, so if you decide to get rid of one remember me!🤣I was surprised, but I preferred the tone from the DS1 over the DS2h, but that was over my speakers, in person I very well could prefer the DS2h. Have a great weekend Andy! Cheers from Texas!!

Hi, well I'm 76, and these guitars are 2007 and 2008, so they'll be owned and played by someone else one day not too far along the road! Love to Texas, -esp.Big Bend!

You are right although both are quite similar. I would have liked to hear them in keys other than G. Like say E and A. Flat keys would also be helpful. I know that these are basically constructed with Bluegrass in mind, but I would like to hear them in other musical forms to see how they behave. The ones I have tried here in the States seem not to respond too well in some of the other keys played without a capo. With a capo they all sound very nice regardless of where the capo is placed. We could discuss all of this for hours I guess...

Hi Joel, any shortcomings of my dreads, in other musical forms are purely the shortcomings of this old picker! Since my throat cancer, my range has reduced somewhat, but I play in A, B (occasionally) C, D (a lot), E, F#m, and .....G. Remember, I'm a singer that plays guitar, rather than the other way around, but no dead notes from the guitars. Thanks as always.

A few current boutique brands I’ve tried are appealing…Santa Cruz and Collings (bonus, I got to interview Richard Hoover and Bill Collings many years ago), and Bourgeois…and Gallagher. I adore the slope D 12 fret wide necks with slot head…currently ordering a Gallagher with that configuration. Yours are lovely.

Hi, all my flat tops are 12 fretters, specifically for the wider fretboards. I did meet Bill when he passed through the UK a few years ago. It was a honour. Thanks for watching.
