Glad I came across your channel. I always can appreciate simple, effective advice. My SHTF guns are my Ruger 10/22, a Winchester SXP 12GA pump (modern 1200's) and my bolt action Remington 783 in 270 + an NEF 12GA Pardner single shot. I'm a 270 man all the way (but I do love my Marlin 336 in 30-30 too). Glass is important. For me, it should cost half what the gun costs. I have 2 muzzleloaders; Traditions .50 cal Hawken flintlock and a new Traditions NitroFire; I wouldn't count them as survival guns, especially the NitroFire which requires special loads (pre-loaded shells). If I had to pick 1 forever, it'd be the single shot 12GA with my insert adapters (9mm, .22lr). I've taken many a squirrel + a 21lb turkey with it and have no problem putting it up against deer at reasonable distances.

Great advise I enjoyed the video. My current rifle is a single shot 45-70 it’s great on whitetail where I hunt in the brush. I’ve had it for about 10 years but I’m planning on selling it to buy a different caliber now. Before the whole 2020 deal I could get a box of 20 shells for under $30 now the cheapest is $50 I can’t afford it anymore.

A muzzle loader in a pistol and rifle is a must have, as in must have. I have #4 rifles cva optima and wolf. I have all the tools and bullet makers etc. I also have like #5 1lb. tubs of powder for them. Then I have around #20 other guns in the gun safe. And all the ammo for each one of them. Then I have #5 years' worth of food. #5 Country cured hams, hanging in the basement etc. etc. We own land and have #2 springs and a creek. And my driveway is 1/4 mile long. And we live out. As in the country. And all my neighbors are just like us, prepared. Crossbows are useless. And would get you killed. Takes an act of God to cock them. And by the time you cock it, load it, bring it back up, find your target, you would of been on your way to heaven 45 seconds ago. And you'll never find the bolt you shot either. Another gun you left out was an air gun. I have #2 of them too. Great for squirrels' rabbits and birds. And as far as pistols My shtf carry gun is a Ruger sp-101 snub nose 357 mag. And a Ruger Super Blackhawk 44 mag in a chest holster by Diamond D Holsters. We also have solar power, batteries, water filtration, and fire making tools and lots of flashlights. And a 25-gallon kerosene container. Light and heat. And the lamps. We also have #2 generators. And an emergency radio and car radio hooked up to the solar. Knowledge is power. And when the power goes off if you ain't got it, you ain't getting it. By then it's too late. That's how it works. I even have #2 weight pullers I bought from Advance Auto parts. Wheel weights make fine bullets when melted and poured into a Lyman bullet mold. As I said if you ain't got it, when it hits. You'll never get it. Peace.

interesting even tho... the 'this is the best and if you could only' vids turn me off mostly. I have a lot of guns for different reasons. if TSHTF comes around? I will still have lots of guns. Not huge on 22 but do have a Marlin 60 that I believe is superior to the Ruger. My 06 Winchester is also better along with a few bolt action 22's ... pretty much not a Ruger fan. The problem with SHTF scenarios is that..... there is no such thing as one that you can count on. It will always be something you don't expect. More than the guns or even the ammo you have on hand is your ability to actually work on guns and how good you are with tools and how innovative a handloader you are (russians at one time would reload 22 rimfire with matcheads for primers) My only scoped rifle in centerrfire is a .270 on the other end of the end of the world would be my black powder Hawkins 50 and my 12 bore muzzle loader shotgun and my percussion revolvers.

If built like a tank means really really heavy and clunky then yeah... Ruger is the way to go... you don't need that bulk and inferior cast parts. So far as pump shotguns? I am not in the mind of warning someone who is out to ... whatever.. with that movie idea of the noise of the pump. I would either rather take the safety off or like my 97 just cock the hammer on a shotgun. My only AR is a 300 blackout. I can cast bullets for it. it is relatively quiet with a silencer. And that is also the point. where will you get your ammo? I make all mine. I can use components from one round I don't need to make ammo for one I do like primers powder and lead. Is that useful? who knows? depends on the situation but I can do it... can I fix a scope that got broken? no... no one can.
