Love the build, Dork . Personally, I don't like hard bags . It's a balanced thing . O.C.D. plus, I keep the weight higher and closer to the frame . I put a high mount for the exhaust . And that silver rack GONE ! I liked the crash plate . Those spots lights are nice . Ian's setup is nice . His lights are attached to the triple clamps, so when turning, you still have light . Those tires from Tusk are awesome looking, and its bad ass pairing with that front fender ! All in all, Dork, it's very nice, and thanks for sharing your build with us ....

I was smoozing around on t'internet last autumn and found the OE heated grips for €121 from Japan. It was an offer, but was valid for ages. You need to search with Honda's part number. The dc socket, oe fogs, oe grips etc need activation due to how the canbus electronics work, just be thankful its not a triumph, they say 'take it to a dealer'... BTW, those links in the description are worth it for your suppliers, I have looked at several products, though some links were so slow I gave up.

Just changed the stock tires on my Transalp to Dulop Trailmax Missions. Huge difference off road from the stock tires. Installed SRC Moto upper and lower crash guards. You do not have to loosen or remove the bars to get the side faring's off. Built my own pannier racks out of 3/8" round rod. Have 3100 miles on now and really liking it other than it's a pain in the a$$ to turn of the traction control. Headed to North Carolina next month for a week of riding the mountains

No choice on the colour in U.S.A., Honda gives us colorways in the U.S. that don't sell well in the rest of the world....and usually only one color each model year (like the Transalp or NC750), maybe two if we're lucky. Heck, we didn't even get the Transalp until 2024 MY (no 2023 for U.S.), and we still don't get the NX500, Hornet 500, Hornet 750, or NT1100.

I had great and perhaps unrealistic expectations on my new Transalp. It does some things well and is a fail for me in others. Stock Metzler Karoo Streets, noisiest tires I have ever ridden on the highway. I heard they quiet down after a 1000 kms, still waiting. Low speed "city" driving is terrible and stutters so bad I think it's missing. Dealer checked it and said the usual "it's normal". The speedo is off by 8 kms per our compared to my GPS. I so wanted to love this bike but after 6 months I just can't. Try before you buy is all I can say. No offence to those of you who love it.

Does the TPS actually let you know how much pressure you have? What’s the purpose of this gadget? As on/off road riders we’re constantly adjusting/checking tire pressure anyway.
@brianfradenburg49
5 ай бұрын
the TPMS will give you current pressure and temperature. It's interesting to see how much they change when on highway vs off road and adjust accordingly. It also has a leak detector, if your tire starts to loose air it will set off an alarm both audible and visual letting you know that you are loosing pressure( saved my butt a couple times from having to change tube in a bad place, when I was just in a good place to change). Also over temp alarm. All settings are adjustable to your liking.

@@brianfradenburg49 that’s pretty cool. I didn’t know that it did all that. I’m well aware of pressure fluctuation though, from driving 18 wheelers. It happens mostly due to temperature fluctuation.
