@linpittsburgh2375 People do sometimes end up going a little cuckoo after giving birth. Not everyone, but some people. I used to know a woman who, after giving birth, got such bad postpartum depression that she basically got addicted to meth. If Peg wanted sooo badly to give something for OP to eat, why didn't she ask him what he could/wanted to eat instead of just giving him things he cannot eat?? Also, seems like body shaming is ok when the target is a skinny guy, and "no" doesn't mean "no", but "force me instead".

As For the first story... I would literally just dump the coffee in the trash can in front of her. Then say "so you're trying to kill me? You're trying to give me food that you know full well can kill me. So by your insistence i should die... you're basically telling me to die... correct? You keep giving me food that can/will kill me. So maybe you want to kill me?" After recording her for the whole time...and show her the recording. From there. I'd warn her i will report her to police if you keep trying to do this... because this could count as an multiple attempted murder situation.

I'm sure the stress from his co-worker is probably one of the reasons why he died so fast. I really wished he got a settlement for basically "intent to kill" and from all the stress that she put him through at work without trying to understand what he was going through. If roles were reversed and she was in the middle of her pregnancy and she lost the baby due to someone force feeding her, I'm sure the legal system would have taken it completely differently and so would HR.

So, Peg is creating an uncomfortable work environment for OP by trying to force him to eat? That's toxic. What needs to be said: "Peg, how do you know whether or not OP is allergic to the things you give him? Additionally, I didn't know you we're I dietician! Oh ... Oh, you're not? Then how do you know OP is underweight? Because... You'd have to be their doctor to know that, and the last time I checked, you're just a lady who works in a cubical. OP said stop, they've had to repeat it multiple times. How much more will it take for you to realize that they don't want, nor need, your help?" To the boss: "Frankly what Pam is doing files as harassment. OP has said no COUNTLESS TIMES, and yet no one takes it seriously. If a man was doing this to a woman, you would write them up, would you not? So, that being said, why is it okay for Pam to harass and force feed OP?" ADDITIONALLY, I would take this to people over the Boss's head, with OP's permission of course. Boss needs to be let go or demoted.

That poor man should have left. I know thats easier said than done in most cases but he should have just called it quits after the boss spoke to him that way. NO ONE supported him, NO ONE saw the blatant harassment, NO ONE in their right mind should force feeding someone in this way, no matter the medical history. This Peg clearly has some trauma work to do, a therapist to see, attachment issues to solve and a whole lot of reflection to be done. She caused that man pain and anguish in his last years alive, even if in her mind she was "helping".
@IslaKariese

I would've been a lot less nice about refusing Peg, plus a lot more verbal about the allergies. OP said everyone already knew, but being blatant about obvious stuff is one of the best ways to get people to either back down or show their true colors. He could've still been nice about it too, like "I'm sorry Peg, I know you mean well, but I think you forgot that I'm severely allergic to [insert food here] and keep such a strict diet because I can't eat all the things you consider fun." If she backs down, it's a win. If she goes off about the allergies being fake or whatever and keeps trying to force-feed him, then it's even more clearly harassment that no one can try to wave off.

I'm one of those bossy nurturers, and I love to cook and to feed people, especially if they really are too skinny and need feeding up, but... ALLERGIES KILL. If someone is so skinny because they can barely eat anything, I am super respectful of that. And if its so bad they cannot trust anything they didn’t make themselves, that's how it is. I'd still try to be inclusive, like, "hey, this is flourless if you feel like living dangerously, but no pressure," or "you want a share for your boyfriend?" This shit is horrible. I really don't get why some people do not grasp allergies. Are they just perfectly healthy, and also jerks who live to inconvenience others?

She seems to be the new stereotypical single mom of the 21st Century. Wants her cake and to eat it too. Just full-on entitlement. However, I think the OP is a bit of D-bagger for how he handled the kid. He was obviously the only person the kid could rely on in their home. His reasoning of it being too hard for his little feelings of not wanting to see the Ex if he did things with the kid is weak and lame. Then at the last moment before his Ex gets there to pick her up, he then DROPS THE BOMB on the kid that she will never see him again. WOW, what a massive AH While I never condone cheating I can almost see why the Ex cheated on this cowardly little man.

I feel bad for the daughter and OP in the second story. I bet the ex is regretting legitimately about the cheating because she basically ruined the chances of her daughter finally having a father. I bet this was the reason as to why the daughter’s biological father left them, maybe the ex twisted the narrative to OP as now her daughter is gonna have to grow up without a dad again. The ex is gonna remember the fact that she destroyed her daughter’s happiness and childhood because she couldn’t keep her legs closed as the daughter is gonna be reminded for the rest of her life that she has no father. OP shouldn’t have lied to the daughter but I know she’s gonna start asking questions later in life and is gonna act out. I wanna know what was so special about the other guy the ex cheated on OP with that caused her to risk her daughter’s and OP’s happiness because she is not gonna find someone special like OP, most of the time nowadays most men won’t date single mothers.

I can see why the OP wanted out and I don't blame him one bit. But the way he handled the deal with the kid was one of the most cowardly exhibits I have ever seen or heard of. He wasn't even going to say goodbye or give the kid any sort of explanation or closure until he got railed in the comments on Reddit. So what does he do??? He sees her one more time and in the last couple of minutes, before her mom picks her up, he DROPS THE NUCLEAR BOMB on her telling her she will never see him again. That way he doesn't have to see her cry and try to figure out what "SHE" did wrong (kids don't know so they always blame themselves). What a massive AH the OP was. I will never condone cheating but I can almost see why the Ex might have cheated on this cowardly manchild if this was an indication of how he handled issues in his life.

Holy shit. I have a bunch of allergies, have obvious lost weight (im not underweight but still noticeable) and i have a coworker who is kinda like the grandma who will spoil you with food. We work at a grocery and while she was giving out samples, she would offer stuff to nearby employees too. She would go to offer me something and pause to ask "wait, your not allergic to coconut right?" She was never forceful with any of it. While im more open about my health problems and allergies, none of my coworkers have ever tried to force me or guilt trip me into taking something i cant eat. For some allergies/sensitivities, you can have a small amount of it but some can kill you if you have even the tiniest amount. If someone declines food, leave it at that, or ask if there is something that they would accept

You'd think people who work in the medical profession or with people that work in the medical profession would be WELL AWARE of the possible dangerous side effects of a person consuming their allergen food (a close second though is Peg CONSTANTLY achingly like an overbearing older female relative to a picky child despite the fact that 1. As a person with a lot of allergies and on a restricted diet, some people are really weird about it. Weird as in they don't believe you and want to catch you out. Especially if they can just consider it as you being "pointlessly picky" and "just eat it already!" I don't accept food from people as I can't guarantee cross-contamination or how old the food is. I have a severe histamine intolerance and leftovers are very bad for me. People get pissy about this as I am wasteful by not eating leftovers. I don't cook or prepare enough to result in leftovers. HR was exactly the right place to go, because the boss did nothing. You aren't meant to only support the workers you like. You are meant to support all of your workers evenly. The food being thrown out really got me. That would piss me the f off.
