Just adding a bit more for anyone who didn't know why it's called a 4th Wall Break: In any visual performance/media (TV, Movies, Plays, comic illustrations etc.) the audience can only ever see 3 walls. The "4th wall" is what separates the audience from the characters. We can see through the wall, the characters can't. So by acknowledging that there is an audience, or that they are character, they break the wall. If you are just hearing someone's thoughts, or it's a narrator, it's not a 4th wall break. Because it isn't technically within the walls to begin with.

@@gieron666 I wouldn't be too surprised if an actor/actress wasn't that familiar with it. It's an extremely rare convention and almost exclusively used in comedies. They’re doing what’s called breaking the 4th wall”. In theater, you have backstage, stage left, and stage right, and each of those could be considered walls of a room, with the 4th wall being where the audience is. Usually the actors perform as though all 4 walls are standing, and there is no audience. But “Breaking the 4th wall” is when the actors disregard there being an imaginary wall, and acknowledge or even talk to the audience. It’s normally comedic..

Deadpool is the most self aware character there is. In the comics he knows he is in a comic. In the movies therefore he is aware he is in a movie, who plays him, and the fact we are watching. The comic character has a lot more going on, because unlike humans Wade’s brain cells regenerate and therefore his brain pattern re-wires itself. This makes him so self aware (and is written off as crazy), and this is why opponents like taskmaster (who can mimic anyone else’s fighting style) cannot beat him due to even Wade not being sure what he will do next. But I digress. Deadpool is such a fascinating character, and a lot of the time is doing things to serve his own self interest which sometimes just happens to help others. And then at other times he can be so selfless it’s almost bizarre. And then there is the voices. Originally representing the audience and the writer, a yellow text box and a white text box would argue with eachother and Wade. Which was then retconned into another marvel character living in his head… but that’s a whole other story!

I think you misunderstand. You are really focused on 'they want us to know it's fake'. It's not 'letting you know it's fake', and it's not the directors... or well, kinda is but the point is that Deadpool as a character, in the Comic Books, KNOWS he's in a Comic Book. That's one of the biggest things about his character is breaking the fourth wall, because he knows he's in a movie. So it's not the directors 'wanting you to know it's fake'.

Colette: I’m ready for Deadpool this time. A few minutes later… Colette: AHH! Why do they do this in this movie! Viewers: 😎😁😌 You have chosen. Wisely.

@13:15 - It is actually supposed to be the Multi-verse theory. What we are seeing is Real and Deadpool can still talk to us.

Just so you’re more in the loop, the references Deadpool makes isn’t to let us know that this is a movie. It’s to let us know that Deadpool is omnipotent. That’s why he can talk about our world other movies etc. He knows he and everyone else in marvel is a comic character. He even know he’s being represented by Ryan reynolds in our world. Thats part of the reason he’s so comedic and seems to play a lot.

Deadpool is in no way shape or form omnipotent. He's more likely close to being omniscient.

Hey, you know, Lord of the Rings, like "The Fellowship of the Ring", "The Two Towers", "The Return of the King", were BOOKS. You know that right. Deadpool was a comic. Most of the Marvel Movies are based on comic books. I know it's tough, but really, a good google before seeing a movie would tell you this, and you know, you would know it's "dark" if you did that. Deadpool comics definition of Dark, so your surprise surprises me. Also, took you a minute to figure out DP was about to blow himself to smithereens not kill himself with that pop tart.

Um, 4th wall breaks in Deadpool NOT the director, that's from the comic books.

did just occur to me the comic were probably before she was born, I like her reactions, although the volume at times is trying.

They didn’t say it, but they showed it. Domino is a luck stealer. She has great luck, and everyone around her has terrible luck, often fatal. Deadpool is one of the few people who can survive around her.

Like you had any dignity to begin with. Just kidding. Great reaction. I'm not a fan of this series either. I don't mind the gore and whatnot, I just think it's stupid. Anyway, that's for being entertaining as heck.

I’m not sure what games you play, but something tells me you’d be fun to have on the team. Cable seems so much like Thanos because he is Thanos.

This was very cringe-worthy to watch. I almost just clicked off I power through and I watched you react to this on the real....

I've hardly laughed so hard during a reaction, this one or DP1. Colette, sweetie, you were never ready for these movies.

It's probably been mentioned already, but I just have to add my two cents: Wade Wilson went totally bat-shit crazy in becoming Deadpool...Part of that madness was his understanding of reality and knowing that he's only a comic-book character...That's the reason he spends so much time talking to the audience...You'll notice none of the other characters do any such thing and believe that Deadpool doing so is just him being crazy...

One of Deadpool's powers is he is aware he is in whatever medium he is in. He doesn't have direct power to change the story generally but occasionally can use that knowledge to his advantage. Because he is insane no one takes anything he says seriously and Deadpool doesn't take most things seriously so he doesn't go out of his way to explain the universe to the people in that universe.
