Wow, very small fawn. I disagree with many comments here, it was not running from the dog and wasn’t laying down as his/her mom would have instructed upon leaving to forage. It wasn’t even doing that ‘panicked rapid breathing’ I have noticed they tend to do when ‘discovered’ and getting ready to bolt if needed. If the fawn was accepting food from a human and their dog... it must have gone too long without contact with mom to nurse. If it left to the forest - it was looking for mom. Sadly, mom if she did not collect the baby... was likely injured or deceased :(. In the future, you can always call the local wildlife association as well for guidance - even if they just give reassurance. They even have methods to summon a doe back using a recording of the fawn’s call, in case she isn’t returning due to perceiving the humans or cute gentle doggie 🐶, as a threat.

A doe will kill any threat to it's fawn. A dog or other animal is seen as a threat to a doe with a newborn fawn. This dog should have been leashed and led away. Stupid move on the owners part. Got lucky this time.

My dog was just curious. It was the first time she saw a fawn, she didn't hurt him. She left him alone after getting acquainted with the fawn. The mother was not around when my dog found him. I thought it was a very beautiful creature and it was my first time to see such a beautiful creature that is why I videotaped him. I was not sorry because I have this document that I can always look back when I get old. The fawn was not hurt, I fed him for 24 hours and he finally left to go in the woods.

@jennyrose9454
3 жыл бұрын
@@Miistli no they are not bad or evil. They were simply bred to fight other dogs and have a high prey drive. This results in attacking kids, their owners, other pets etc. YOU do some research and you'll see pits are responsible for more attacks than any other breed by far . Most dogs bite and release pits maul till you're dead. So dont tell me I'm not " educated".
@jennyrose9454
3 жыл бұрын
@Mark OnTheBlueRidge the nanny dog is a myth. No dogs or pets are " nannies" they dont watch kids think how dumb that is. Oh yeah and why are they called PIT BULLS?? Because they were bred to fight in pits duh. Retrievers retrieve. Shepherds here. Terriers kill rats. Pit bulls dont have to be taught to fight it's in their genes. Not every pit is a killer bit numbers dont lie. It's a nice idea that you can "love" the aggression out of a dog. But it often ends up with someone getting their face bitten off. If you dont have a bad experience, great. Look up which breed killed over 40 people in 2020 and many many pets. Before you spout out your b.s..
@jennyrose9454
3 жыл бұрын
@@lotusdragonjbh not every pit is but it's a breed trait. Pit bulls will go after other dogs, cats, horses etc. There's always the exception. But they kill a lot of animals
