Forgive me, but this is simply inhumane! And when you have children and at some point you realize that you don't have the time and energy for them, will you give them away too? Animals are the same family members, they cannot be given away, changed, betrayed!

You’re not forgiven because you’re not smart. Did I push the dogs out of my p***y? I didn’t, so they’re not the same as kids. You’re an imbecile 😂 I didn’t dump them on the side of the road, didn’t take them to a shelter. They now live with a friend. You and the rest of your small minded comrades are DUMB and lack experience in life. This is the only DUMB a** comment I’ll be responding to and this response goes for EVERY & ANYONE that has an issue with my decision. Now get TF off of my channel 😘

I can’t believe she wrote that. She must not have owned dogs before. You love your dogs but they become an expense and with shifts in life, sometimes you have to make choices. I feel like you made the best choice for yourself. I’ve also re-homed dogs before so I understand. F*ck what that person is talking about.

I took in a re-homed dog and what a blessing she was!!! Her previous owner could no longer car for her and had remembered she connected with me. I see re-homeing as a shared blessing, a blessing of the original owner to the new owner. We loved our beloved Sheba for 3 years until she passed from cancer this past February. Besides the cancer, I wouldn't change. So I send you a heart felt thank you from a re-homed receiving momma. Thank you for sharing your blessings!

You gotta do what you gotta do for you! There's no reason to explain ish to anybody. When my 19 year old cat had to be put down, I said I never want another pet for so many reasons. I loved that cat so much. He cost me so much money, I could never go anywhere. I was his servant, my furniture was a scratching post. Hair all over the place and I avoided wearing black clothes bc he was white. Don't get me wrong, I loved that cat but $68.00 for a flee collar, vet bills, food, litter was why I could never go out more than a weekend. My daughter is child free in her 30s, having a great life. I'm so cool with that. I don't even have plants anymore that require alot of my attention. I now have acquaintances not friends. I'm celibate now bc I don't care if a man has a hard on. That's your business, take care of U. I wake up and all I think about is me after caring for others for over 40 years and it feels f'n good!. Not selfish at all, just self care. Let this be the last time you explain anything to anybody. You don't owe nobody ish! Saying all that it's hard to love them so much. I never wanna love that deeply again. They do miss you too. It's so hard though. 😢

I recently got a poodle and I wasn’t able to keep him for more than 1 night. I felt horrible for doing that to the poor dog but I had this whole idea in my head that a dog is what I needed. My mom didn’t want to keep her, and couldn’t afford to care for her with new responsibility of living. I’m 25 and have been going thru a lot of changes. But I’m happy that my yorkie is now in safe place with an owner who give her all the attention she wants. Vet Tech here for over 15 years. And I will say you ABSOLUTELY did the right thing, and I applaud you because it’s NOT EASY making A decision like this. You did what was best for the two fur babies and they are thriving in their new environment and in turn you will be able to thrive in your future endeavors without feeling the restraints of the obligations that come with pet ownership and I don’t care what anybody says it is a HUGE responsibility ESPECIALLY FINANCIALLY , when you have a dog or a cat. And God forbid if they get sick that’s on a whole another level. You did absolutely right and I stand behind your decision ten toes down. Again this is coming from being in animal medicine for almost 20 years and wishing more people made this choice especially when it would do right by the pet and them. I wish more people had your mindset and did right by their fur babies and themselves.

Ooh girl, this is about to be a long comment so buckle up lol. I really needed to see this. I’ve had my little Yorkie since he was 1 (he’s 5 now) and it was (1) pretty much forced onto me via my mom telling her friend that I would take him BEFORE telling me about him and (2) two months before the pandemic shutdowns. Because of this and financial hardships, I wasn’t not able to get him the socialization and training he needed at a young age and his reactivity is severe because of it. I’ve tried many trainers and although he has calmed down considerably, it still gets bad if he even hears another dog 😩 combined that with living in an apartment in the city…I worry for his health because he’s getting older, and I worry he’s going to end up hurting himself or another dog. I have one more trainer who wants to meet with him and possibly have him stay with her while she trains him, but even that is expensive. I’m willing to give it one more try but rehoming will be the next step if this doesn’t work. I’m trying not to beat myself up about even thinking about that because it does get generally shamed, whether people like to admit it or not. It is A LOT, it is expensive to take care of them, and I love him to death but his reactivity issues have definitely taken a toll on both of us mentally. I have to literally pick him up and brace myself whenever we’re coming in and out of my building. I’m not looking for him to be super friendly with other animals, I just don’t want to have to worry about getting bit or scratched inadvertently anymore because he’s being fearfully aggressive. Thank you for sharing your story because it makes me feel better for even entertaining rehoming him. I just want the best for me and my fur baby, even if that means he needs to be in a space that fits his needs better.

We have very similar situations! Same thing with my girl dog, I explained everything to them and told them to keep her AWAY from other dogs. I wasn't willing to invest in training for her, I had other things to put that money towards. I understand the anxiety you feel with walking him, it almost gives you PTSD. Honestly, do what you have to do. I stopped caring about what is and isn't shamed a longgggg time ago. If he attacks another dog and you get sued, people's opinions won't pay for it. Just like people's opinions won't pay my rent if I spend all my money on a dog 😂 this life is yours and you only get one, do you boo ❤🤗 Wishing you the best with your decision making!

You did the right thing! Anyone can tell how much you love them! The fact ur emotional about it shows that. I’ve had 3 cats so I feel you, But ultimately you have to prioritise urself- if the dogs could speak they’d want you to thrive! :)

Omg I had a cat growing and for someone I thought having a cat would be like having a dog!! Cats are easy! You leave food, water and a litter box and they're good on their own for a few days. BUT WHEN I GOT THE DOGS!!! 😭😭😭 These last 8 years been a lesson for sure 😂😂😂

@@itsevettereneedefinitely!! Cats tend to take care of themselves and only are clingy occasionally- 8 years though with dogs is no easy feat especially on your own! Most people couldn’t do it

I agree with you on all of these levels. Where you live makes ALL the difference when you have dogs…I’m in a similar situation. You did the most loving thing for your babies

I got a dog 1.5 years ago...I regret it almost daily. They never grow up and it can be exhausting all by yourself. I am also a mom and responsible now financially for a child and a dog and....I feel you on so many levels right now! I'm just happy to know my daughter can eventually really help with our dog. She is only 9 now and we live in an apartment...but eventually I hope it will get easier for me.

It’s a very frustrating situation to be in and if I didn’t find someone to take them, I’d simply have to find ways around the responsibility and find comfort that it won’t be a forever thing, just quite a long time. Having your daughter to help will lift a lot of the weight off of your shoulders ❤️

Thank you for sharing this and getting transparent! Those who have a love for animals with a good heart will always do what’s best for the animal first. God really was looking out! It feels bittersweet when you can get a pet/ foster animal a home with someone you know can give them more. Praying your upcoming journeys bring blessings, growth and much happiness! 🩵

I totally get it! I have 2 dogs! I TOTALLY understand. If it was just me, it would be a lot. I have 2 teens who pitch in, so that's one of thier chores id to walk the dogs in the evening and feed them. I have thought many times if I should rehome them from time to time due to where we live (2nd floor apartment). Don't let anyone make you feel guilty, you did the right thing mama

I love that you made this decision for yourself, while considering your furbabies. I also love that it seems like you have an open adoption... being able to see them and taking care of their medical needs is so thoughtful and considerate. Happy you're able to fly now.

Evette I’m a dog mom and have always had dogs growing up. I currently have a 17 yr old Yorkie who is 3 1/2 lbs and a 10 yr old yorkie both female. I have blankets and towels on all of my furniture water proof blanket on my bed. I can’t buy a new comforter as they will tear them up. If I go to happy hour I have to cut it short to make it back home to feed them. I understand your decision to re-home your dogs and the grief that followed not having them there with you BUT you made the right decision for you and the things going on in your life. Better to give them to a family who takes care of them just as well as you do. They will always remember you no matter how long it is between visits. Be well!!! God bless you

My heart goes out to you. I had to rehome my dog after 9 yrs for some of the very same reasons. I had to rush home early to take him out or inconvenience other people. I had no freedom and he needed more than I could’ve given. I miss him terribly but he is so happy now with someone that has the time to cater to his needs. I really understand. Sending you hugs.

I’m glad you were able to find them another loving home and they get to see you. My two rotties shed like nobody’s business. It’s a lot of work. But I hv a house. Cldnt imagine having these two big dogs in an apartment. It’s best to make decisions on your lifestyle. And you’re still taking care of them which is nice. The fact you explained to your followers was sweet and kind of you. It shows how much you really do love the dogs! Update I cried at the end! Omg I can only imagine. They look so good. Bless your friend for taking care of them.

Thanks for this video. You actively chose transparency and authenticity when you didn't have to. We got a rescue, a female pittie mix that was 5-7 years old. She was excessively reactive. Her owner died and she was abandoned on the street. She was fine with any human but no dogs. She would bark if we would have the window cracked and she heard them across the street. She barked if she saw them on television. There was an incident where she barked so aggressively at another dog and started foaming at the mouth. We really didn't have the money to invest in training. I was afraid to take her for walks. We couldn't go into the grocery store together. Even when one of us stayed behind, she got incredibly ancy in the vehicle. I am in a new season leaning into self-care after years of self neglect. My cup wasn't filled enough to take on the enormous responsibility. With standard supplies we likely spent $300 - $400. We only had a trial period of two weeks and we took her back. Had debilitating guilt but I'm letting that go. Just the appearance of this video and you taking full ownership of your decision is apart of my healing. Stay blessed!
