Yes Lori did use a bigger lock nut on the wheels. You got a classic. Hope the engine is ok. Those use to be hot engines for the day.

Just bought one on ebay the looks really great condition. Seller says its in very good shape and engine runs great. I had to have one of the old nitro stadium trucks like I had back in the day. I really want to see them make a comeback!

Hey that funky wheel pin design, duratrax copied that design and used it on the evader, if you take a set of wheel hexes, they fit right over the pin and work perfectly! 😉

@@hybrid32494 I did see it- great work! FYI, I'm pretty sure one of the previous owners upgraded the suspension arms to graphite ones since that was only standard on the high end kits- the rest had cheap plastic "RTR" branded arms.

It's possible, yes. This model sure does say RTR on a lot of the parts, I've never seen any RC be so obvious about the RTR issue, LOL. It's quite funny that today LOSI makes mostly RTRs that compete with basic competitors.

Those wheels mount just like some of the tamiya's with no hex n just a pin, also the traxxas bandit's front wheels r like that also, I just put a hex over the pin like u usually have n put a different set of tires on the bandit, ones with hex's, so if u wanna run tires with hex like normal just get a 12mm hex from like a traxxas n snap it on over the pin n then u can run normal 12mm hex wheels
@hybrid32494

yup, typical LOSI from back then. Since they have been mostly sold thru HORIZON HOBBY they have went way downhill, mostly all RTR now. And yet they still have LOSI RC elitists. Id say most of the modern LOSI's are similar overall to and RTR traxxas.

thanks for wathing!!! I've got a DJI phantom 3 4K too. Love it, other than the WIFI signal. Pretty bad and always get signal interference even with those terrible antenna adapters. LAND rc is fun too because there is a larger margin for error and mistakes than drones, and cheaper to repair, you know.

the graphite arms where designed to be stiffer made out of the same material as the xxx series chassis's but were too brittle so i chose the stock xxx-nt arms, the shocks are the good hard anodized one's.
@hybrid32494

they do seem stiffer than modern plastics when I tried to twist them, but they are also grainy and do seem slightly brittle for impacts. Great shocks, you're right.

@hybrid32494

hey buddy! This nitro runs a 4 AA battery pack. This is basically the same as most 1/10 scale nitros to power the servos and receiver. You can upgrade to a rechargeable pack if you wanted to.

do you mean which rechargeable one? Because these 1/10 scale nitros run a bash 4AA plastic battery holder. It's genetic piece. Honestly the 4AA is enough, and theres no reason to upgrade to a rechargeable. It last pretty long as is.

duratrax based their evader models off the losi XXT (Truck), and XX, (buggy) duratrax made really good graphite parts, but the fact that they had the stress tech guarantee and replaced parts for free, negated most people wanting graphite. Duratrax Evader, associated RC10GT, and losi XNT, XX(N)T, all used same wheels with no hexes, offsets are all different though. having RTR on all the parts imo would be kind of cool, means most of it being original.

@@hybrid32494 thanks for the videos! Recently acquired 2 nitro evaders and am getting them back to running condition, quick thing too for nitro engines that I've found, if you fill the case with old no longer good fuel (new fuel works too but kind of a waste) and rinse it around it breaks up the gummed up fuel really well. It's really awesome seeing these old nitro trucks getting restored and back to their former glory!

I know what you mean, it's like a major victory when you get an old nitro rc to run. I don't feel the same way about electrics at all. I will remember your nitro fuel cleaning tip, great idea!! let me know how the nitro evaders work out for you. Have you ever had any nitro tower hobbies branded rcs? I have. that it definitely is, hearing that first fire up after god knows how many years since it was ran/cleaned/maintained. i do recall reading about the tower terror years ago, and the ST-15 i think it was? was about 10-15 years ago (had a 9+ year hiatus from the hobby and just recently go back) havent owned them but not due to question of quality. have been able to get both evaders stripped and cleaned, engines disassembled and cleaned out (both were seized as yours was), got new RX/Tx in them, and was able to run them around a bit. really fun cars.
