I do remember Squirrel Pie Productions! Loved going through your knitwear collection, it was fun to recognize some of your older projects! I totally understand what you mean when you talk about how your style and comfort level have evolved, I feel the same!

Loved the review of your knitwear! I’ve been watching your videos for a very long time (pre-Lucy) and have thoroughly enjoyed being able to observe your knitting and yarn dying journey. I’ve been knitting for about 65 years, but in the last 25 years or so I’ve knit mostly socks (and loads of them). Now I always have socks on the go as well as smaller accessory and children/baby items. 99.9% of my knits are given away and/or donated to whoever I can find to take them. I can’t imagine a day without some knitting in it (sometime lots of knitting in it). My life has been greatly enhanced by knitting and the wonderful community of makers that has come into my life through knitting. Thank you for the time and energy you put into these videos! Until the next time. Salam wa sa’aadah

Thank you for showing some of your wonderful knitting. You are a great knitter. Your reflection is very interesting. I am a novice knitter so I knit slowly to avoid making mistakes. Besides, I am learning new things with each garment. That's why I only have time to knit what I will wear in winter. I will take into account your reflection in order not to knit more than I can use. I follow you from Asturias, northern Spain. I send you my best regards. Thank you for your content on the channel.

Beautiful stuff. I am not a knitter. I would never have the patience to do it. Hand knitted items are so beautiful. Just like you. ❤

I have been a long time fan of yours. Love this video. I definitely need to clean out my shawls, way too many. I’ve kept some of my very early sweaters (like from the 70’s and 80’s) and they’re just nice to look at now and then. I did a video called sweaters through the ages, which was fun.

I have always loved your knits and your color palette! I started watching you when you were still Squirrel Pie Productions. 💜 I am a dyer and a LYS owner, so I store most of my knits at my shop where they are safely kept from my four cats and two dogs. Lovely video!

It's fall and my time to enjoy knitting videos. Yours is always high on the list. I knit the Flaum cardigan by Justyna Lorkowska for my mom with longer sleeves and it's an amazing pattern. We used a little heavier yarn and it's more like a jacket. She lives in it.

I haven't been watching you since you started the channel but definitely since it was Squirrel pie productions. I thought that it was a fantastic name, it didn't really hint to a purpose. A bit like Adrian's old channel freakish lemon, his new one is still pretty vague Barrows and White! I really love the long scarf like wraps too, they are a lot less faffy! Thanks for sharing your kept pieces with us.

Absolutely started watching when - Squirrel Pie Productions. I too give up and out all things that no longer work for me or my family. I also knit things for others from the get go - I knit a lot and couldn't possibly keep it all - even in Minnesota where I am lucky to need to wear handknits for most of the year. Mid way through each winter we go through our handknit drawer and destash all of the knitwear we just aren't reaching for - getting the hats and mittens and cowls and scarves down to 2-3 for each family member. I'll have to look at my Ravelry pages and see what the oldest thing I have still. (Of course there are a lot of knits that have never made it to my Ravelry page, just as almost none of my stash ever made it to my Ravelry page).

I remember when you were working on the Spark Cardigan and holding my breath while you steaked it. I have a couple shelves in my closet (with a cedar block) for my sweaters, socks just go in the sock drawer and hats and scarves/shawls in another drawer (again with a cedar block) afghan on the sofa and chair. Other than that I give 80% of what I make away.

I loved this video! It really makes me want to do a run through video of all my knitwear, though I think I would have to do it in many parts. I am very sentimental about my knits and have a real hard time parting with the ones I don’t wear. That said, I do wear most of garments. I did a count last year of sweaters and cardigans with the idea of weeding some out and out of 30+ I think I only got rid of 3 or 4! Finding closet space for so many sweaters is becoming a real problem! Maybe it’s time to have another look through and really take stock of the ones I wear most and the ones I could pass on! Thanks for planting that seed in my head!

I absolutely LOVE these types of vids!! I actually just recorded a big monologue on my own channel about not falling into knitting the trends and instead knitting and sewing things that compliment my style and fit into my wardrobe, so it made me smile to see someone else being spurred into the same thoughts.

Yes I remember squirrel pie podcasts and have been a fan of yours since then. I finally made a sweater that actually fits me this year. I have learned that if I don’t like it or it doesn’t fit I’ve given myself permission to rip it out, especially if I really love the yarn. I’m about ready to start a so faded sweater for the 4th time, all the others were ripped out for various reasons. I feel after a while of knitting stuff you begin to learn about the construction of things and what you like. I knit lots of socks and wear them lots. I have a collection of shawls that need to be cleaned out as I don’t wear most of them. I have given away lots to nursing homes and the not so nice have been donated to thrift stores. Guess we all live and learn, but I love the making of all things and want more stuff that I will wear.

A nursing home is such a good idea! I'm going to keep that in mind for my next unhaul. And congratulations on knitting a well fitting sweater, that's so exciting! I've done that too, every three or four sweaters. LOL!
