Somewhat surprised you don't have Melanie Rawn's prequel to the Golden Key. I think the other authors were also supposed to write prequels as well, but I'm not sure they have been printed. I really hope to get to read the Captal's Tower someday, but I respect and understand her struggles with that book. I really love Kate Elliot's and Jennifer Roberson's books a lot as well, but Melanie is my favorite of the 3. They all made high school much more bearable 😊 Thank you for sharing!

Love your enthusiasm! Thanks for your author introduction. I've read the first Cheysuli novel and the first two Tiger and Del novels. The first two Dragon Prince novels and the whole Jaran series plus the Crossroads series. I've also read The Golden Key, of course. I like The Golden Key most of those and the Tiger and Del novels are really good, too.

The Golden Key is probably one of my favourite books of all time. I picked it up in a used bookstore on a whim because I liked Kate Elliott and read it when I was going through a rough time and it was just exactly what I needed. So good. I am yet to read anything by Rawn or Roberson but they are on the tbr!! (And when I saw this video, it was an instant subscribe from me, and I look forward to watching more of your content!)

I love all three of these authors and The Golden Key is great. Others I would add from the same era are Katherine Kurtz and Katharine Kerr.

I would love to see a review of the jaran series. It was my first Kate Elliot book when it was new, and it wasn't until unearthly crown was published for me to realize she had written more. I also enjoyed The Crown of Stars but lean more toward The Jaran as my favorite

She's working on Captal's Tower. I still have to read the first two of the Exiles series.

I read King's Dragon and I liked Elliott's writing, but I kept getting distracted by similarities to the Catholic church. It was just hard to get past. I kept feeling like I was reading historical fiction. Maybe I'll try Jaran.
