Your story is like a novel. I see you now in a much different light. Every time I see you in your videos I see you as a very knowledgeable garden teacher. Now, more than that, I’d be thinking how brave you are; how courageous you are, lived through hardships but have made it through… you’re a garden and good life inspiration.

Thank you so much for sharing your heart. I recently lost my husband of 35 years. He had been my rock in my overcoming a less than idyllic childhood. I'm now throwing myself into establishing our most recent garden that he and I were planning. Your story solidified my resolve to push on and create my own healing garden. Blessings

I had my purse stolen from work 5 years ago. This person had all my keys, wallet ect. They could have stolen my car and just walked into my house since they had my address. What an incredible story and thanks for telling us your story so far. I got sick and ended up unable to work and gardening became my only relief. Even though I could only do 15min bursts it was the one thing I looked forward to and I would slowly push myself to do a little more. My income was limited so I loved to buy those reduced plants in the nursery and take them home to nurture and revive.... for every little success in reviving a plant I was also reviving a bit of myself! Love your videos.. keep them coming

Thank you and well done for fighting for your recovery. I once read a book that said that doing things in 15 minute bursts was the most effective way to get things done, and I often use that technique for something I dread like tidying my office. It's amazing what can be achieved in a series of fifteen minuteses!

You did well to get through all that, Alexandra. No wonder you ended up with ptsd. I am so sorry about what happened to you. Luck - good or bad - plays a part in the stories of all our lives. You were simply in the wrong place at the wrong time on several occasions, and endured some horrific circumstances. However now you have your lovely garden, family, and friendly youtube channel. :) You deserve happiness and peace of mind and if garden meditation is helpful for this purpose at different times, that is wonderful. The concept is, in an interesting way, familiar. Currently I have podcasts of BBC gardening shows playing during the night (on my iphone) so that if I wake and am restless, I am quickly lulled back to sleep by expert answers to such questions as, "What can I grow on a north facing wall in a ten inch wide gravel bed?" In a way, that is a kind of garden meditation as I am transported into other people's gardens. However I will also try applying the approach you outlined on your other video. Take care and my very best to you as always.

Thank you! And I know what you mean about complicated - but practical - questions being quite soothing. Another favourite of mine is to work out what menu I could use if all my friends with allergies or food issues came to the same meal. Although that has now all got so complicated that I would have to serve a buffet, which isn't quite the challenge I was setting myself.

Wow how ironic. So much danger in the other countries you lived and England was your safe haven yet the incident happened as soon as you came to England. There is good and bad in every country but we can’t live in constant fear. I was burgled twice, first time my daughter woke up and witnessed the front door wide open and the both our cars stolen. They broke into the house to get the keys and stole our wallets in the process. Second time I came home and the burglar was upstairs I just ran out to my neighbours and the burglar escaped right behind me. So both me and my daughter both have anxiety any movement in the house I think it’s a burglar. I will definitely try meditating see if it works. I loved your stories, please do tell us more stories of your childhood.

Hearing your story is very powerful and moving. I am so glad you have found solace and healing through your gardening, and that you have the compassion to share with others. This year in the USA there is a new book called "The Well Gardened Mind" by Sue Stuart-Smith. She tells many such inspiring stories of how people are healed from trauma through gardens. Now during the pandemic I think many of us are also discovering how nature heals. Thank you and God bless you!
