Join us for an Italian cooking retreat in 2025 in the beautiful region of Calabria, Italy, right off the coast of the Ionian Sea. We're still working on finalizing all the details, so sign up for the waitlist if you want to learn more. This retreat will include hands-on cooking experiences, tasting 5-star quality Italian dishes, and going on food centered excursions.
The school I attended: The Italian Culinary Insitute (italianculinary.it/)

If you've been wondering what it's like going to culinary school in another country, I'm sharing my day-by-day experience of learning to cook and bake at Italian culinary school. During my time in culinary school, I learned many different things including:
- Tasting extra virgin olive oil and learning the different regions in Italy that it comes from.
- Italian cuisine basics like the proper way to cook pasta, risotto, and pizza.
- How to make Northern and Southern Italian pasta dough by hand.
- How to make authentic Italian gelato and even how to balance a gelato formula.
- Italian breads like ciabatta, taralli, and focaccia.
- Authentic Italian desserts like pan di spagna (sponge cake), semifreddo (a frozen dessert), and tiramisu.
- How to break down an entire pig and create fresh pork products, like porchetta and 'Nduja, along with cured meat like soppressata and prosciutto.
- Various ways to conserve food through canning, marmalades, cold smoking, and dehydrating.
- Mixology lessons to learn classic cocktails and mixing techniques.
- Classic Italian pastries like babà, cudduraci, colomba pasquale, and cannoli.
- An introduction to Italian wine tasting and beginner sommelier training.
- The science behind Italian cheeses and how to make Italian mozzarella cheese from scratch.
This day in the life culinary school vlog will walk you through everything I did day by day in Italy. This Southern Italian culinary program taught me so much about how to cook authentic Italian cuisine by studying the various foods of regions in Italy.
If you want to learn how to cook Italian food or want to attend culinary school in Italy, I hope this video helps you learn a little more about what our classes were like (all classes were taught in English).
Feel free to drop any comments below about questions you have about going to culinary school, and I'll help you out :)
