My Experience of Growing Trumpet Vine in a Pot (With 182 Days Updates)
In this video, I've shared my trumpet vine's post-winter dormancy fertilization process. While I didn't cover its sunlight and water requirements in the video, here's what you need to know:
Trumpet vine thrives in full sunlight; while it can tolerate partial shade, it may not produce as many flowers.
This vine grows rapidly, so it requires regular and thorough watering once established in its pot, especially during the summer.
A couple more things to keep in mind:
If you're planning to grow this vine on your balcony or terrace, be prepared for an invasion of big black ants 🐜, as they are attracted to its flowers.
If you're considering planting it in the ground, be cautious as it can become invasive, taking over all available space and hindering the growth of other plants.
On the bright side, planting this vine in your place will undoubtedly attract butterflies and hummingbirds. If that's what you're seeking, then you should definitely consider cultivating this beautiful vine. 🌸🦋🐦
Other common names: Orange Trumpet Vine, Tecoma Vine, Trumpet creeper
Family: Bignoniaceae
Scientific name: Campsis radicans
