As much as I complained at the time, my older sister always made me stay up with her for years on Friday nights (actually Saturday morning) to watch The Midnight Special that aired between 1 A.M. to 2:30 A.M. Eastern time. She also forced me to watch Don Kirshners Rock Concert with her every Saturday Night (actually Sunday morning) between 1 and 2:30 A.M. Eastern time. I can actually remember all of this stuff like it was yesterday, and in 1974 when I watched this I was 8 years old! I would complain because I'd have to get up at 7 A.M. the next morning and go to catechism and on Sundays get up at 7 A.M. and go to church while she always got to sleep in. Years later (before my sister had passed away) we reminiced about these shows and I commented (complained) again about how she would keep me up until 2:30 A.M. watching with her. Honestly, looking back over my life now at 56 years old, I can say that I don't regret it and thank her for exposing me to all of this. I look back over my life now and think how fortunate I was to be able to witness these things. This was the golden age of music. We took it for granted a lot. I guess we never felt that the music would die out and be replaced with the absolute garbage they peddle today. I always say that Rock started in the mid 1950's and just died in the mid 1990's. It's tried to revive itself, but it hasn't been successful. The one thing I miss now in my life is music
