I know you’ve made a video regarding transaction fees before, but it may be interesting to revisit this topic especially as fees start to rise in today’s environment. Today, block space is already full, and we are barely along the adoption curve. It seems that only extremely wealthy individuals will even be able to afford to transact on the base layer while the greater portion of the billions in the world will be forced to a layer 2 solution, sacrificing their self sovereignty, and decentralization (whether through lightning or fedimint). To scale effectively, btc seems to have to give up this very core feature. To transact on the base layer will be a privilege that few can afford. Essentially, self custody will become VERY expensive at some point. Maybe I’m thinking about this wrong, but I would be interested to hear your thoughts on this.

Matt, I like a mix of video types. One needs philosophy, theory, and application to succeed. Sometimes the spite which comes through on the videos where you attack this or that is a bit off-putting. Some things need attacking, no doubt, and you are good at it. But too much acid can eat you up. Theory and how-too videos are also important and round things out and are a nice break. Hey Matthew, there's been a lot of discussion about consolidating UTXOs due to potential future increases in fees. Should someone regularly dollar-cost averaging smaller amounts into a hardware wallet consider taking steps in that direction? Thanks for the content man you’ve helped me learn a ton.

If he doesn't answer i would say yes from everything ive come across. Transaction fees could become quite costly in the future and if your dca is too small that could obviously become very expensive. I've heard numbers like having at least a million sat utxo's but more lately ive been hearing numbers higher than that and the higher the better in general. Id maybe do a a search for some of wicked smart bitcoin's content. He's covered this extensively at least on spaces. I can't help but think as the bull market really gets going its going to get potentially really expensive so you may want to look into getting this handled sooner than later. Thats my two sats.
