This series is brilliant. Thank you, Jennifer! I used to craft a bit when I was younger, but as a student, I just used what I could find at the dollar store or at a discount. Now that I can actually afford this expensive hobby that is stamping/scrapbooking, I have a lot to learn about supplies. This is going to save me a lot of money in the long run, not to mention a lot of frustration. Hugs for you :)

An awesome little hint for the Stazon pads, put 2 little glue dots on the top of that line across the middle of the clear insert lid, then it will stick to the inside of the main lid. That way you don't have to take that off/on separately. :) Great videos!!

Ranger is releasing 6 new colours into their dye ink page range at CHA 2016 I love them they are the dye ink that I have the most success with. My next favourite ink has to be the hybrid ink from MFT fantastic colour range and fantastic pay off, the only two other inks I have in my ink stash is Versamagic for embossing and black Staz on. For techniques and water colouring I always turn to my Tim Holtz distress inks. I love this series Jennifer so glad you did it again in the year 2015 I am catching up on vids at the moment but still wanted to come on and say thank you for all the fantastic videos.

I prefer pigment inks to dye inks. Pigment inks seem to work better with clear as well as photopolymer stamps. Pigment inks also work well with dark cardstock as well as light. With pigment inks you get more bang for your buck because there's no need for embossing powder. Die inks don't seem to work well with solid images which has been my experience with them. I have only tried Colorbox pigment ink and I like them. I also use Stampin up Inks which can be challenging with solid images. I intend to check out other brands of pigment inks in the future. Thanks so much for sharing such as indepth video pertains to inks!!

Could you PLEASE do a simple flip-through of your swatchbook so we can look at and compare the different colours by all the companies so we can choose which inks to buy? It's not often that people have as many as you all side by side, so it's useful for us to pick say, a mid-range yellow we like and not buy a similar colour by another company, and see them compared to others to pick the shade we like. Thanks in advance if you do! Thumb this comment up if you'd like to see that commenters! ;)

Thanks so much for doing this video (no need to apologize for length). I had no prior knowledge about the properties of each & needed some guidance because I was totally confused about which to get when I went to the store. Prior to your video, I actually bought 3-4 sets of the mini Distress Ink packs after seeing how costly the larger pads were, figuring I'd rather have more colors over a larger stamp pad. I liked how vibrant & rich the colors came off in journaling videos I've seen, and after experimenting with them a bit, I enjoy how nicely they blend with soft pastels. I have a question 3 questions though .. 1) I got a set of clear stampers and tried one with the Distress ink. The image came off horribly blotchy. Is that because of the Distress ink stamp pad? ink? or the stamper? I've heard it's the fault of the acrylic-type stamper (vs. a photo kind). 2) Can you also recommend a particular brand of white embossing powder? 3) Do you like/recommend Stampin Up brand of inks? (for the white) Thanks!

What a really cute stamp with your logo on it. I'm glad you talked about the inks. I always wondered what the versa fine was. Also, I actually like when an ink stains my small word stamps as it makes it a little easier seeing what it says. Now for the question........I am using Ranger Archival Ink on Ranger's watercolor paper and I have a hard time getting enough ink on the paper. I want to put Ranger's superfine clear embossing powder on the image, but there seems to be never enough ink. I tried re-inking the pad even though it's fairly new and I put foam underneath my card stock. Sometimes I get great coverage and other times not so good. Do I just need to press harder? Is there another trick? Thank you.

Regarding the Versafine ink pads... I have kept that little piece of pellon that came on top of the pad when I purchased it. I've noticed that you don't have yours on your pad. What is the purpose of that little piece of fabric? It's made me crazy trying to figure out what it's for. Is it for people like me who aren't very graceful and would put their fingers all over the inkpad while flipping over that lid? I think that the attached lid is just an excuse for me to drop the pad on my project, and I don't love it either.
