Savage 24 are some of my favorite rifles as well. I have a 24C 22/20 gauge. It is definitely my go to camp rifle. It also has a storage in the butt stock for a couple of 20 gauge shells and about five or 6 .22 long rifle shells, these are a little slide that pivots out and opens up the back of the butt stock. Very fun little rifle. Thank you for the video!

I have to say CW your videos on the model 24 really have peeked my interest in them. I cannot say when I’ll own one but eventually I’ll have one in the collection. I believe it will make a great rig for my son when he is old enough to go small gaming. I cannot wait to he is old enough to do all the activities.

Rare one seen gander had on trade was a turkey one or Russian in 7.62x39 × 12ga or 7.62x54 in 12ga can't remember been to long.

I need to do some more testing with my 24F predator in 22 hornet over threaded choke 12 gauge. Mounted a higher magnification optic on it for testing. It’s pretty close to regulated from factory…but not perfect. I installed see through rings so I could zero my optic for the 22 hornet and open sights I can zero for the shotgun.

You know life is good when at 3:45am the power goes out after 30hrs of storms & flooding but you can still pull up a video of CW with 2 great looking Savage 24s!! Was sitting on porch - cooler out there - watching your video & looking for deer to visit front yard & had a little black & white striped friend almost come on porch with me. Was interesting for about 20 seconds. Love the 24s but dont like the 42s I guess because they dont have nice wood. Thanks. Stay safe. 🙏👍

To start with my I offer a good morning to you. I have a few points I'd like to cover. A. If you haven't noticed I love versitality. That is one of the best features of this design. Though I must have to admit never owning a model 24. B. One must never under estimate the versitality, and effectiveness of the 410 bore. I have harvested more game birds with a 410 single shot, than any other combination of shotgun action, or gauge put together. C. When it comes to a rifled slug the only rival to it for accuracy(in my opinion) is the 28 gauge. D. Today's manufacturers are not taking the opportunity to promote the versitality to the up most of there ability. For example Henry makes a single shot of good quality, yet limit choice of caliber options. Appears to have no rebarreling program. A marketing tool great for new clients. Thomson center knew it, though not as affordable as it could of been. Even NEF knew it, but limited it to the upmost potential due to its two different action strengths. A manufacturer has a potential to capitalize on this market, as long as it is reasonably affordable( as in a replacement barrel should not retail for more than a Ruger American bolt action rifle) for example. A single shot rifle/shotgun are simple, safe, effective, and with affordable options bring joy for years to come. Mountain man

I have the same rifle that may grandfather owned. Savage model 24. I began breaking it down to give her a good once over cleaning and oiling. I'm having an issue that I can't find ANY info on anywhere. It's all in working order. Load, fire, break open, reload, select barrel, close, fire, etc. Something is stopping it from breaking the barrell from the main. I don't know what it could be. I'm pulling my hair out with this one. I'm trying to avoid taking it to a smith if possible. Any idea or suggestion what might be causing it?

I bought a nice one for $150.00 used back in the late 80's. It was in 22LR + 20Ga 3'' .I was thinking it would be the ultimate small game gun. Unfortunately the 22LR barrel and 20ga barrel were not at all regulated. This resulted in the shotgun barrel being 2 feet to the right and 2 1/2 -3 feet high at 25 yards when compared to where the 22LR would hit. The gun was useless as a small game gun so I sold it for just a little over what I paid for it. NOW I wish I'd kept it as these have shyrocketed in price since back then.

Most of my 24 back in the day had no scope grooves, it wasnt until later on did they come out. I did have a model 24-c CAMPERS COMPANION in 22/20, but had to part with it going thru a divorce to feed kids. There are still folks in our mist that look down on the 410 gauge. Shame on the UNINFORMED MASSES. Hope my comment helps that old timer Walks Fletcher out..At one time you could get the model 24 in 30/30 winchester caliber which took more game than the .270........
