Amazing review! I love your video quality a ton! Thanks for giving nice looking and sounding videos on these awesome ocarinas. Our small community needs stuff like this!

I am three months in learning the ocarina and I have learned a lot, my progress is scary but even though I am inexperienced I am going to get this ocarina as soon as I can. I really want to play it

Fascinating. Thanks for the review. Wish you compared it to a double. so second chamber on double is different then? I love harmony so I'll be getting one and posting songs on it.

I bought this today thanks to your video. lol I always wanted a triple until I seen this. This is a very good compromise.

Great review! Question... since it has the same effective range as a double, what's the benefit of the Harmony compared to, say, the Spencer Virtuoso Double??
@AndyCormierYT
6 ай бұрын
Similar to the virtuoso, overlapping notes between chambers can make certain songs a LOT easier to play when there are fast runs in the "border" between chambers. The harmony is also designed to provide a lot of harmony options. Since most songs *don't* need the full range of a triple ocarina, the harmony basically cuts range to add flexibility

@@AndyCormierYT Thanks! Hmm, would there be a reason to get the Virtuoso over the Harmony? (provided Spencer starts selling them again haha)

Hi Andy thanks for the review! Just wanna know; how would you compare this to the Osawa triple AC?
@AndyCormierYT
Жыл бұрын
I have never played an Osawa triple AC, so I wouldn't know! They'd be very different for sure, since the Osawa is focused on range extension, whereas the Songbird is focused on balancing range with harmony options

Well I have a new dream. Get good enough at the ocarina and memorize enough songs to one day volunteer for a Songbird booth. Cause playing the ocarina and getting ocarinas is a win-win situation.

The reasoning is sound, but the circumstance suggests it's also really a match made in heaven. I'd lean towards setting it down in a padded display case and that's no dig on the quality of the instrument. On the first chamber's airy-sounding highs, though, do you find the acute bend improves the clarity? Mainly curious since I've seen some strange discourse about the technique.

Could you do reviews for song sheets, I've seen a bunch on STL but not sure which ones to go for.

I have a stl there just tabs but I see some pages from song bird and it seems like its tabs and sheet in one also they lower the price of shipping if its just song books unlike stl

@matocarina

I don't know about this exact model but I'm pretty sure it's the same as most multi-chambers, it's there for the manufacturer to tune the second and third chambers. so they're not meant to be covered

I’ve recently been considering the jump to a double chamber ocarina but now that I’ve seen your vid reviews I’m leaning more toward the ultimate jump to a triple… any reason not to? As I’m 2 years into this instrument (12-hole alto C key) with a decade of flute/piccolo experience, I’m wondering what the benefits of Songbird triple vs double are and which I should choose. Thanks!

I don’t play any wind instruments but I’d imagine the main difference is just difficulty. Anything you could play on a 2 you could play on a 3 (probably). Maybe you sacrifice tone but idk, but w/ 10 years flute experience you’d probably crush the triple in no time
