I always do hard boiled eggs directly into boiling water for fifteen minutes pretty much on the nose. Then straight into ice water before eating. It's how my mother taught me and I've never had eggs fail.

Yes, that's how I've always done them too. Just seemed like a great thing to try, even if it did fail.

Wee love canned potatoes. I also came across a what some might call rebel canning, but is not really. Our ancestors and some like the Mennonites canned with out water in potatoes .i pressure canned my uncooked washed potatoes with or without peals. I also added same melted butter, then added lids and preasure canned for the time it takes in other pressure canned potato recipes . Much better than the other way.

My favorites are the animals, but cooking on a wood stove is fascinating! Love the idea of home church! I am finishing my 6th wheel of cheddar for this season. Getting better and faster each one. I also made my first mozzarella and a batch of cajetta for the farm store where our extra dairy goes in exchange for veggies we don’t have currently. Love your channel!

Is all your bread sourdough or do you do yeasted bread as well? I'm having a heck of a time because I need to use whole wheat flour and it's usually so dense. Your bread always looks great.

Cooking on a wood stove is a challenge hey it’s almost like learn a entire new hobby because the heat situation is so different. My fav way to use up canned potatoes is potato salad. And yeah don’t stir too much. My sister cans all the marble potato’s from her garden and deep frys. It’s absolutely delish in a breakfast hash with bacon or fried ham eggs and smothered in holandise sauce

Hi I started canning potatoes 2 years ago I love them. I do the same thing. Drain and rinse them a little but I put them on a tea towel to soak up the water for about 20 minutes. Your cast iron pan needs to be very hot add your potatoes and they come out great every time. Enjoy

Steam your eggs to hard boi! It is a game changer. 12-15 minutes depending on egg size and how you like them cooked. Put in ice water bath to cool. Easiest eggs to peel ever!! Try it!

3:33 seriously .. potatoes from September 2012 (as seen on jar) .. used in 2024?

I took it as September 12 🤣 but none the less my gramma ate and fed herself and anyone in the entire village that needed a meal and used canned food from potentially 20 years. 🤣😅 she lived a good long healthy life.healthier than lots of younger people I know 😄🥳

Definitely not from 2012! I would have reused that lid as it didn't have any dents for scrapes on the underside.
