Hi! Great video, thanks!!! You mention in the video that you kept on refining the blocking many times, before you started working on the splines. But how did you do that? Did you add more and more keyframes or only adjusted the ones you had?

This is great I'll learn blender next focusing on maya for now. Wow I'm amazed with the blender results and I had Jeremy 4yrs ago. Very nice instructor. I have similar animation using Iron girl but I think your idea w test dummy came out way better. Also did you use May to animate this w Jeremy or blender and then showed high res playback to Jeremy? He uses maya and works down the st from me. Surprisingly I never met him in real life. I'll ask after covid for a Blizzard tour I net Hason Shum his former coworker.

After doing some research, I have a theory of what 3D animation consists of: real references, plus the 12 principles of animation, especially the lines of action. In addition to taking into account the Body Mechanics. What do you think?
@Nicolas-of6li
3 жыл бұрын
I genuinely struggle with blocking. I understand body mechanics rather well, but ive never pushed my blocking very much and I get really dull and constant timings. It almost looks like mocap at some point. Thanks for sharing

For anticipation, is that done during blocking stage or refining? I find it difficult to do with graph editor but with action editor it seem so much simpler in blocking phase.

Nice work on the animation! I really like the story telling poses and the holds quite a bit and look forward to seeing more of your work from iAnimate. I've just started to move some of my work from Maya over to Blender and there are a few little workflow things that I need to get used to. Mostly toggling between stepped and spline as I was taught over at Animation Mentor. Really helped me a lot.

Do you know that I hear your voice in my head while I work? C'est tres zarbi. I am starting to animate in a french accent. What I love about your art is that it cannot be hacked like shading or texturing has been in recent years. It's still traditional art... not that creating shading nodes and whatnot isn't art, it's just slightly removed from the finished product, whereas this is very hands on.
