Really interesting! I'd definitely love to see more of this. My grandma was a bottle-runner over the Canadian-US border during the prohibiotion. She wore a dress that was designed to be able to hold a number of liquor bottles within it and she had to learn how to walk in a certain way so that the bottles wouldn't clink when she entered the United States!

Due to the deep punt in the bottom of that smaller bottle and the color of glass I would guess it is a Champagne bottle. The punt strengthened the bottle to withstand the pressure in the carbonated wine.

Love bottle collecting. Living out in the desert, we'd find them on the side of the old roads. The older bottles have the painters top that were sealed with corks or glass stoppers. Screw tops were introduced later. Red glass bottles are the rarest to find. Cobalt blue are so stunning and look amazing displayed.

We bottle hunt a lot in Arkansas. You want to discover really old Privy holes and dig them out. You’re more likely to find Hutch soda bottles that are worth big bucks. In the old gold mining areas out west you can find really incredible old beer cans and bottles! One of my favorite finds in Arkansas was a green glass mason jar full of marbles that I dug trapped under tree roots.

He does mud-larking too on the Ohio River. Anyway---HAD to come see your bottle digging video!! I love all your crystal digs, but this one was FUN too. so that one bottle with the deep part sticking up from the bottom is called a punt and was commonly used as a way to make sure bottles would sit flat, so either it was a type of decoration they used which is the primary use today for a punt, or its REALLY old

Diggers leave ones they don't want. The good old stuff is down the bottom of the dump. Your on the surface and all 1930's stuff. Bottle prices & sales are thru the roof right now. My first bottle i ever dug was an old Nu-Grape double bubble. I was blown away by the heavy ornate glass. 20 years later and I still get a thrill out of it. The first ball jar is called a dropped a, they were made from 1910- 1923. That old green bottle with the kick up is a mineral water or champagne. The deeper the kick up or punt the more carbonated the liquid. One rule you should know is never dump the liquid out of a bottle. Especially in the hole. Some of that liquid stinks so bad you won't be able to breath.
