Thanks for watching the video and welcome to the comments section Drew, it's much appreciated! I'm glad you enjoyed the ride footage because I was doing my best to capture the vibes of the ride and the scale of us mobbing the streets of NYC as a group. The community here in NYC is awesome and it's always a pleasure to chat/ride with everyone. Like I said in the video, I hope I can experience the chill West Coast rides one day!

Thanks for joining me on this one as well! That's exactly why this group ride was great. Our group lead S73NY, did an amazing job pacing the ride by communicating with us through hand signals. It allowed us to really mob the streets. It looks and feels much more epic but it's safer for us as well since the vehicles won't mess with a pack that big! Even the route was well planned because it included 2 sections where people with power/ speed can get their speed fix. Getting to relax and enjoy the day on a group ride setting is as rare as the pack staying together, so we gotta enjoy it when it happens lol.

Thanks for watching the video and welcome to the channel Mike! LOL the cops generally leave us alone as long as we're not being a bunch of hooligans, but we always joke about it because the bikes on these ride are the closest we get to road legal Class2- Class3 ebikes. It's even funnier when we see the emotos with fake pedals attempting to pedal past the police! That's really interesting that the throttle is illegal, that's pretty crazy! I know that they have really strict EU regulations based on RadCityBerlins videos but I didn't know it applied to the UK as well. I should've know because the escooter restrictions are unreasonably crazy!

Thanks for watching Kahn! That would be dope to ride with you at the next one. I really enjoyed this group ride because the Group Lead made an effort to maintain a good pace while communicating with us through hand signs. Even though there were some crazy high powered bikes/ scooters in there, he kept everyone together and it felt dope to mob the streets as a big ass cohesive group! It also felt safer because cars wouldn't even attempt to break our formation. The route was well planned as well because it allowed for the big guys to show off their speed on the west side. Even if I joined this ride on my Nami, I would've enjoyed it. I'm not a fan of cutting up traffic in large groups because not everyone can ride like that.

Just like any of the online forums, some groups just have more toxic people than others. Even in NYC, there are types of riders I just don't mesh well with so I just avoid those types rides. I have enough stress/drama at work so I don't need it ruining a hobby that's meant to bring me joy. This is also a big reason that my earlier videos were mostly solo content. Those are "Outdoor Dining Sheds". They were originally introduced during the pandemic to allow the restaurants to generate some revenue while remaining safe. Unfortunately, they went from a temporary solution to a permanent addition. Thanks for watching the video and welcome to the channel! I do ride my bike/scooter in the winter, however, I avoid riding in snowy or icy conditions because it can be really dangerous to wipe out in traffic. We don't usually get much snow and when we do it's cleared out very quickly, but I believe ya'll get much more snow and ice than we do! I know folks use studded tires but they have to be very careful because the studs them selves can cause flats. I personally use the same street tires all year round. I wish I had better advice for the winter!

Hey! I was actually watching your Nami Klima, and I was wondering what kind of gear you'd suggest. Do I need a full motorcycle helmet, which can cost a few hundred, or should I be good with say, a basic BMX helmet, which is alot cheaper. Them I'm assuming a motorcycle jacker + gloves to protect me from skidding, and some knee/elbow pads?
@eyebahnrides
11 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching the videos and welcome to the channel Master1250, I appreciate ya. In my honest opinion, I don't think you need a carbon fiber super sport helmet made for motorcycles for the Klima. However, I do believe in full face helmets that are crash rated up to 40mph. If possible, stop by a local motorcycle gear shop and ask them for their lowest priced options that can protect you up to the max speed of the Klima. If you plan on sticking to the 20-30mph modes, a good full face downhill MTB or downhill skateboard helmet will be sufficient. As for gloves, I wear padded motorcycle gloves on the Nami but wear MTB/ bike gloves on the super73. I also change out gloves when seasons change! The one thing that I always wear when riding my Nami is body armor and that's a non negotiable. Im a bit biased here because I use Beyond Riders Body armor because it's protected me through 2 crashes. I use a CE2 padded riding shirt lined with kevlar. It's the grey mesh shirt you see in most of my Nami videos. I like being protected with out looking like a power ranger so I opted for this (I don't like the look of riding down the street looking like I'm about to fight aliens. I think it draws unnecessary attention). I used to wear kneepads over my jeans when I'm doing high speed riding for extended periods of time. Recently, I bought the kevlar lined jeans with CE2 knee/ hip pads built in from Beyond Riders after my recent crash on my esk8. In full transparency, I paid for the gear that I own from them. I have an affiliate link with them because I believe in the product. I also have a coupon code you can use if you want to purchase the Armored Shirt and Armored Jeans . Using my link/ code generates a very small commission for the channel. beyondriders.com/?ref=wrbae9zj use coupon code: EyebahnRides to save $$! I hope this helps!

@@eyebahnrides It does, I do plan to not really go faster than 50km/h, so I might just stick to a MTB helmet and padded gloves, but what do you think of the ILM 902 helmet I saw on Amazon? Is the body armor basically for skid protection? I'm assuming it's not actually impact resistant. I'm thinking of getting the Klima, and it's already going to be expensive enough $3200 CDN for the MAX version, so I'm trying to get only whats required, atleast at first. I do plan to hit max speed, but really only on smooth roads with not many people around. I currently have a Synergy Rides Duel Sport, and can hit about 40KM/H, and honestly it feels "fast enough". I appreciate the link, though I prefer not to buy from the US if I can help it, exchange rates and shipping to Canada suck.
@eyebahnrides
11 ай бұрын
@@Masters-rc9sc ILM helmets tend to be really bulky and heavy so I'm not a big fan of them. The first helmet I bough when I had my Mantis 10 was one of the Modular ILM helmets. You should be ok with an MTB helmet rated for multiple crashes at those speeds. Body armor, like the one I suggested, serves two purposes. The pads are designed to disperse energy on impact on the joints/ back. EN 1621-1:2012 (joint protectors - shoulder, elbow, hip, knee, shin): Level 1: residual force below 35 kN Level 2: residual force below 20 kN EN 1621-2:2014 (back protectors): Level 1: residual force below 18 kN Level 2: residual force below 9 kN The kevlar lining mixed with the pads also give you skid protection. Even if you don't get it from beyond riders, its worth the investment as the Nami Scooters are high performance machines. All of my crashes happened on smooth side streets away from traffic/ people. I was blessed to walk away with only a fractured hand on that first crash. At minimum, pick up a preowned moto jacket with pads. I'd rather be over protected and never fall, than regret it when I do. Life changing things can happen at these speeds.
