I am kind of skeptical about most Masterclasses by mediocre or generic musicians or guitarist. Since I am kind of convinced however that Matteo is probably the best guitarist in the world, I am going to overcome my skepsis and commit to do the Masterclass!

Having played guitar for 20 years now I've never really felt the need to buy a masterclass, until now. I learned for years fingerstyle on acoustic and so my transition to using a pick for electric was a rough one, but it was just what everyone said you were supposed to do. But you've fundamentally changed my view on what's possible just using fingers and I'm so fucking excited to learn about how your approach has lead you to this level of virtuosity!

A very underappreciated electric guitar player who doesn't fit the mold (aka: not using a pick) is Zack Wiesinger. Predominantly an award winning blues/funk player who I've been following since I saw him open for Stevie Vai almost 20 years ago. Please check him out if you haven't heard of him, as he's developed his own signature finger picking style as well that's still very different than Matteo's. He could serve as some additional inspiration. Also, (if you haven't heard of) check out the legendary Stanley Jordon for some additional "out of the box" style playing (intricate pick-less tapping). It's a shame people persuaded you that you needed to adopt to a plectrum when transitioning to electric....that's such a narrowminded view on such a diverse and fantastic instrument. Good luck with the masterclass! Matteo really is the cream of the crop of these younger generation guitarists. (with the addition of Max Ostro, Ichika Nito, Marcin)

Alessandra 76 old❤

Matteo is the 21st Centuries fusion guy like the heroes of the 1970's. He is our Holdsworth, not a term thrown around loosely. Al DiMeola sought him out and did a duet with him, which is the ultimate compliment. As a bass player I can tell you Matteo has two kick ass bands with monster players.

A master class with a young master ✅ I'm a broke musician living out my elder years, with aging ears and many fears. I look forward to live long enough to see you and your father playing together on the KZitem. I'm so stoked that you are forging ahead and doing things that give you joy. Your English is getting better and more interviews and yapping to us Americans it will get a little easier to understand each word. 👍😂🎶

Great list!!! Honestly, though, would cut Henson and add Alex Hutchins in his place. Or even Gambale/Garsed. I love Polyphia, but he shines writing at the computer and performing it note for note....... if Henson was to woodshed with these guys, tears would be shed on the wood.

This Era is not particularly Gold to be honest, Gold players have been around long ago, the fact is Internet made it seem so. But before internet helped to widden and popularize guitar players' exposition there has been many virtuosos and amazing players across time. Sure these guys are all amazing and this era is Gold, but not particularly.

He may be an amazing player, but that doesn’t mean he can teach. Most people who are great at what they do are clueless when it comes to teaching. It’s a whole different world. You have to be able to see through the eyes of your students and what they don’t understand … can he see the guitar through the eyes of a beginner? He is so advanced that I just don’t see it.
