I remember when I first started learning python. I decided to make my own little project. I made a simple text based black jack game. Took me an entire day for just 100 lines of code. I was so proud. I knew it was garbage code, but it was my garbage code, and I couldn't wait to get better and come back to get a good laugh at the garbage it was. I finally went back and man was it a good laugh and made me feel even more proud of how much I've advanced. 😊

I really like this kind of video where you take a critical look at code. Any chance you could take a couple of bad examples, and explain in more detail how you would improve? Have you thought about committing this to github and then a rewrite, perhaps in another branch? This would prove to be an awesome example covering the various code smells you pointed out. Trust me. We have all written code like this and upon looking at it a few years later have the same reaction that you did to our own code. Great job being transparent! This could become a really good teaching aide. Perhaps even create a challenge? I might be interested in forking the code myself and refactoring it as a sort of code kata. I enjoyed the video.
