Paint it Black is The Rolling Stones 😊 CLASSIC! Eddie Vedder of Pearl Jam did not sing for the Doors, that was Jim Morrison decades earlier. The Doors and The Stones are 60s and 70s, the Stones actually still Rolling all these years later.
Yes he did, look it up , it is on KZitem. Of course Jim sang for The Doors in the hay-days. Maybe my phrasing was a little confusing in the video, my apologies for that. 😘I should have said 'with them'. But hope you find it and be happily surprised 😀!

Eddie inducted The Doors into the rock n roll hall of fame in 93 and stood in for Jim Morrison with the remaining Doors members Ray, John and Robbie. Eddie was a fan of the Doors music growing up and was clearly humbled with the whole thing. He was a great choice to fill the unfillable boots of Jim and he was awesome doing it

Funny that you liken him to Nirvana. All those boys (the Seattle scene) were kinda best buds and highly influenced each other. They all played the same gigs and had side bands with one another. It's a huge rabit hole to get into. I mean the history behind them all... you might want to look into Mother Love Bone. They were the back bone of the Seattle scene... they were the first band to break out and then their singer OD'd. that broke the hearts of all the bands in the scene. Candle box wrote Far Behind about Andy Wood (the singer of Mother Love Bone), Members of Soundgarden and Pearl Jam got together and formed the super group Temple of the Dog and made an album in support of Andy's family that he left behind.... the bands were featured in a movie called Singles.... but if you're going throught he Pearl Jam songs I would highly suggest Better Man, Oceans, Yellow Ledbetter, Porch, indifference and Garden. Black was actually written about the loss of his first love. Eddie Vedder is amazing at showing pain with his voice.

As good as MLB were, they weren't the "backbone of the Seattle scene" and weren't the first band to break out - several bands had already broken out such as Nirvana, Soundgarden, Mudhoney, The Melvins, AiC and Screaming Trees, to name only a few, had already put out records after signing deals and toured. Mudhoney being formed after another band, Green River, had split with Mark Arm forming Mudhoney and Jeff Ament and Stone Gossard forming MLB. ToTD wasn't in support of Andy's family, although i dare say they may have gotten something from the sales, Chris Cornell had written a couple songs about Andy who was his flatmate, and ToTD grew from there as a tribute - AiC's "Would?" is a tribute as well, a play on Andy Woods surname, and in the video the reddish jumper/sweater Layne is wearing was Andy's and was his favourite top.

Someone in the live stream said the singer of The Rolling Stones also sang for The Doors... That is absolutely not true. Mick Jagger sings for The Rolling Stones, always has - to this day. Jim Morrison sang for The Doors until he died, and they never replaced him. Whoever said that in the live stream has no idea what they're talking about. Also, Paint it Black was definitely The Rolling Stones, though many bands have covered it since then.

@@Elezium wow... I mean, as a fan of the scene I understand where you're coming from. Great music came out of Seattle before MLB you're right. But none of them reached commercial success before them. Green River came close. MLB's audience was greater, and they got signed to a larger label before them. Green River achieved what success they had under an indie label which is huge... but the band had crap luck with touring, multiple line up changes, their 10/85 tour tanked more than likely because their album hadn't even been released by their own label yet. Also, while they played a lot locally (I mean around the Seattle through Portland area), they did not go much further than that which means they did not get as much exposure as the bands that came after them. Then their EP tanked, which is just bad luck. They were ahead of their time with that one. then with their second album they fired their singer for Andy Wood from MLB. They made the album after damned near recording it twice (having fired the singer half way through recording it) and then the band broke up. What success are you talking about? how loved they are? how good they were? no one is disputing those things... I'm also a fan. I'm talking breakout success, hometown boys leave the hood kinds of success. Sure Soundgarden was right there with them at the heels of MLB, as were Nirvana Pearl Jam Mudhoney and AIC. Like I said they were all like bro's. The point I actually made was that Andy (gonna get a little graphic here) was the guy who used to bring thei party to the party with his pills and snortables and injectables... because he was the lvoable guy who was just known to always be "holding". And he was a good friend to those around him becaus ehe was a cuddly ball of love and encouragement. He brought people together and tried to solve their conflicts... sure normally with drugs... but he was Andy... he was fond of drugs... so were most of the rest of them. the scene was riddled with it. But JUST LLIKE Green River, Andy went and blew his shot just as he was at the verge of having it. Only he had gotten just a bit further in that journey than those boys... and instead of just breaking up, and label issues, and being schmucks on tour.... well, he died. I guess that was kinda my point. He was a shining smile in that crowd and was beloved by so many that it moved many of them to make music influenced by him... just syain'. love to you though.🖤🖤🖤

Temple of the Dog wasn't really an Eddie Vedder thing. He sang on Hunger Strike, obviously, and I think backup on another song, but that was a Chris Cornell thing with the band members of Pearl Jam. It was a tribute band/album to Andrew Wood, the lead singer of Mother Love Bone. Wood was Cornell's best friend and roommate and he died of an overdose. A couple of the guys who ended up forming Pearl Jam were in Mother Love Bone. Obviously Hunger Strike has been their enduring single, but the whole album is fantastic.

Since their love has gone bad everything about him, what he was, what he is or will ever be, has been turned to "Black"( spoiled or rotted like a beautiful peach turning black). This includes all of his fond memories and accomplishments from the past, what he is, who he is with and his entire world now and everything to come in his future! On the other hand, he knows she will someday she will have a beautiful life, she will be a star(shineing, warm, loving, life giving beautiful star) in someone else's sky(life) and he wants to know why, why can't be in his. I am not usually a fan of slow songs but this lyrically and musically is one of the best sad-ass songs I have ever heard. I am F_K_N sitting here and tears are rolling down my old normally stern and stoic face. This certainly is not a song to listen to before going out for a good time or stepping into a boxing ring(I feel the opposite of pumped-up). If somebody says that old saying "it's better to have lost in love then never tried" to you, tell them this guy would strongly disagree.

Nirvana and Pearl Jam came from the 90's Seattle grunge/alternative rock scene. That's probably why you could see an overlap influence between the two. Kudos for putting that together without knowing the history. There was a lot of talk in the music scene at that time that Kurt Cobain and Eddie Vedder didn't like eachother. That they had some sort of rivalry. I think it was probably mostly fake. I know Eddie Vedder was truly saddened by Kurt Cobain's death.
