So I'm playing through EotE at the moment and can't stop thinking about it either, I really don't blame you for shouting about it - great to share. The whole build up to the first scenario set the scene so well done and the exploration push-your-luck and thematic objectives in Ice and Death are just brilliant. Ice and death part three was soo sweet. No further spoilers for me but the jeopardy just keeps ramping up. Not one scenario has fallen flat, the encounter deck themes are spot on and even though I didn't want to get attached to the partners I couldn't help it! Still two more scenarios to go I think, it really is a campaign that keeps you guessing. Also having the campaign all laid out in one box is a real treat. Feels so exciting to dive in. It also gives them so much more scope for different scenario interactions and story telling. I just want to keep talking about it but really don't want to spoil anything. Do keep doing updates, and sharing that feeling of going through a campaign, I for one appreciated it, especially as I know a bit about what is coming. That said I too still don't know what's in the crystalline caverns. I did have a peak with a pocket telescope but I still can't remember! For me that's the way to play arkham. Already considering which investigators to take next and which partners to try and befriend next time!

I do like the checkpoint idea, much more friendly for people who have limited playtime.

No need to resleave the Tekeli-Lis. Just put it underneath you investigator and shuffle a pre-sleaved placeholder card in your deck (e.g. any card with the backside up - or your beta moxens if you are feeling fancy). If you draw a placeholder remove, resolve a random Tekeli-Li underneath you investigator and pit in on the bottom of the Tekeli-Li deck.

Haven't gotten around to playing it yet, but this campaign had me from the start with, oh it is set in after at the mountains of madness. Just got the campaign yesterday and I was super surprised by how big the box was and that it has room for storage. Looks fantastic and I am looking forward to both playing it and seeing you all play through it.

That part about how someone just dies, reminded me of a line from the muppets, forget which movie, I think Christmas carol from Rizzo the rat, "He died? I thought this was a kids movie?"

Damn, my partner and I got into Arkham Horror with the new Revised Core Set, so this was our first full-length campaign. Hopefully it's not all downhill from here 😭 Especially since we chose to start the Circle Undone next and your summary at the start of the video was that it... "exists." 😂

When we started the campaign, our mood was - okay, let's save them all, no problem...then spoilers > . . . > . a plane crushed and we got our guy who takes care of the location mythos cards dead, and his friend/foe gets affected (so cool) We camped at the Barier Camp, thought we nailed it with 7 safe zone, but no... when we were reading about. the characters we got a bit worried about Danford really wanting to come back to the antartic for some reason and had thoughts about him being an imposter. And of course he was the one who went missing at the beginning of the second scenario! Spooky shit!

Good to hear. I just finished Dunwich and purchased Forgotten Age (only complete cycle available), but after that I may just skip to this after hearing you rave about it.

Nice review, at first kinda bummer to see the campaign seems only 5 deck. But if the first story contain 3 replay-able part, i think its a win-win expansions. Keep on going gangs. Can't wait for deep review for each part & story campaign.

The Setup is built on "At the Mountains of Madness"... probably the best story by Lovecraft. Of course it has to be fantastic!

It’s a good idea to do these videos as you play through the campaign. People are very interested in thoughts on the new format and new campaign. Canada got the campaign relatively early, so take advantage of that!

Maybe do a halfway through look at it video like this one, and then an after it is done video, so you can get into what you expected and how it turned out differently perhaps and overall feeling changes as it goes.

Only watched the spoiler free stuff as I'm really interested in buying this one. In your opinion is it worth getting the investigators pack as well or would I still enjoy playing through this with characters from the core game/previous expansions?
@PlayingBoardGames
2 жыл бұрын
The investigator pack isn't necessary, but having more cards and investigators to play with increases deckbuilding possibilities. However, if you still have investigators you want to try out, you can find good times with just the campaign box.

Would this be a good starter expansion over dunwhich legacy? i was told dunwhich legacy is just an extension of the core which is more of the lines i am looking to achieve
@ussenterprise1394
2 жыл бұрын
I think Dunwich is an extension of the core in terms of cardpool, as there are many useful player cards that are in Dunwich. Dark Horse, Fire Axe, and Charisma easily comes to mind.

I think so! I'm still very early in the campaign so I don't know how the difficulty scales, but the first two scenarios seemed very good difficulty wise.
