As a Reno resident, I love GSR, especially for their buffet and other amenities. I would like to hopefully see someday you guys review the Atlantis, Peppermill, and the Silver Legacy. Those seem to be some of the popular resorts as well, and maybe hopefully you are able to take the 30 drive from Reno to Lake Tahoe to explore the Resort and Casinos, like the Bally’s resort and Harrahs.

@bruceanderson7762 Sounds like a by gone era when slots where much looser unlike today. Casinos now push PR in the news media every week, especially in Las Vegas tv & newspapers showing a 1 in 10 million chance jackpot winner because they want to trick tourists into thinking they may have a chance.

Being a long time Reno resident, I totally love it here and love Las Vegas as well. GSR is awesome, so are Peppermill, Atlantis, El Dorado, Silver Legacy and the new remodeled J resort. Downtown is currently going through a major transition and large parts of it are a mess. The River, Midtown and anything outdoors are amazing. Thank you for the positive vibes for Reno most of the time when I see reviews about Reno they normally focus how bad downtown is and never go outside it. You channel rocks and you always give great tips.

Legacy El Dorado and Circus Circus are all attached via the mezzanine so fun to visit. I would pick Legacy to stay at and check out all 3

I like Reno a lot. Of course it's not as fancy or flashy but it's much less chaotic, more laid back, and affordable than Vegas. Atlantis and Peppermill are both nice standalone resorts, similar in ways to GSR. But I always enjoy the mini strip the most. Cal Neva is all ghetto and run down but so much fun. Then the 3 Caesars properties - Circus Circus, Silver Legacy, and El Dorado - are all very nice. There are also other decent properties along "the strip". They also have that huge pro bowling arena. There's a cool interactive art park nearby. Jimboy's Tacos. Hot August Nights. All good stuff! Fun place to stay for a few days.

GSR was originally the MGM which had a huge casino (it might've been the largest in the world at the time) out by the airport with its own small shopping mall (and bowling alley) attached, but by itself away from the main downtown strip. Looks nothing like it did when it was the MGM. It had the typical huge showroom with amazing showgirls all decked out in the shows a la Vegas. It was very nice and upscale back in the day. It had amazing chandeliers all throughout the casino and hotel. Being that it was away from the strip, they tried to be all-inclusive and did a pretty good job.
