Nice run. I appreciate your honesty in the video. You're doing what few people even dare to do.

Appreciate it! I was tempted to not even post because of my failure, but I also didnt want other people who are new to rwd (like myself) have this happen on public roads. Ever since this incident I no longer go full throttle unless the steering wheel is completely straight 😅

😂 because it was safe and no damage. I think its fun to watch spin and oops videos. Also helps new folks see examples of what can happen out there - what to look out for and what to expect. I also post up ones I have witnessed or participated in. Good vid thx for posting!

Yesss, when it first happened It really sucked, but after marinating and studying what caused it, I look back and laugh because like you said, safe, no damage and lesson learned and share with fellow rwd owners. Hopefull this will help prepare novice rwd drivers like myself, what causes oversteer, how to prevent it, but also how to react if it does happen again😅 I will check your stuff!

Thank you for posting! I totally agree that tires are super important. I only have done HPDE several times, but have been loving it. If you come to NJ (let me know), go to a MOE event. Nice guy, good rules, safe. Awesome instructors!

I also scared myself shittless when I experienced oversteer for the first time in my GR86. But keep going! It's all part of becoming a better driver and learning how to control the car better

That happened to me on the freeway going 55mph !! I thank god no one wasn’t around and all the drivers slowed down! The only thing I did was pass a car and I lost control of the car kinda like in your video ! I still didn’t know what I did wrong because I’m not hard on my car at all !!

@@Rated__GR Ahh, what was the ambient temp? I know the stock Michelin PS4 tires are summer tires, and dont perform well under 40F weather, so if it is in those conditions you have be extra cautious on the throttle because the colder the climate, the less grip the summer tire compound will have. So its really understanding your tires grip depending on the temp, and be ready for oversteer and correction if needed. Basically the key is to be very easy on the throttle for both accel and deceleration. Hopefully that makes sense

I would let the car shift itself (in sport mode) then just focus on driving. Also i think the stability was working against you ,ive had it happen in mine. Try just the one button track mode to loosen the traction and stability management. Great to see a automatic car its better than most give it credit.

Yea I can see how the TCS can work against me, especially since Im not use to how it makes the car act when it kicks in. I always drive in normal mode (all assists on) with paddle shifters. I dont trust myself in full track mode yet 😅 Thanks for your feedback and I will def try that in the future

@@FujiboHeavyif you have events near you that let you practice car control/oversteer or even drifting lessons, you will better understand whats happening, and instinctually how to recover or at least how to have more controlled 'off-track' excursions. I've tracked an auto gen1 and gen2 and they're a ton of fun - underrated by most - so just explore your limits, get some lessons/coaching (its a true fast track to improving if thats your goal). Have fun, be safe.

@@nodrogkam Appreciate it! Yea I think I would benefit more on a wet skidpad to better understand oversteer. Thank you!
