There's a generation of dutch people translating directly from Dutch to English, with a really hash accent. I worked a lot with English speaking people overseas and they were always surprised I could actually use the correct words or put a correct sentence together lol. I actually cringe when I'm working on an international job, and in a meeting an older dutch person opens their mouth... 'whee haff one one zero peepole working wizz diss geere". My grandfather was from Germany, my grandmother was from Scotland, my mother was from New Jersey, and my father from Tennessee. No wonder I chose foster care. People, listen to me, just cherish the time you have with your family, I got unlucky and my family passed away quickly when I was a child, and I miss their antics. Especially my crazy German granny. This is pretty much spot on for at least 50% of German mothers once their kids hit puberty, so you probably wouldn't have much choice!
