One tip with methylene blue is to have a second bucket next to it as a “cleaning” bucket before you move them back into the main tank/hospital tank as it stops them flicking the blue everywhere!!

Honestly this is the part of fish keeping that I find hardest. I woke up to a loss this week very unexpectedly. Get well Aurora!

Cracking stuff acriflavine but i dont think it will do anything for an internal bacteria problem.

Agreed! I think antibiotics or something like kanaplex would be best, but I simply didn't have it on hand, unfortunately

Have you tried soaking the food in garlic guard too or feeding raw garlic? Not that you need any help or suggestion, I was just asking out of curiosity

I haven't. I believe garlic is good, but at this stage, it is too late, unfortunately. Good suggestion though 😁

Do you think there's any merit in always keeping them at 25-26 degrees? These fish are so fragile it seems, I've lost a few over the last year regardless of decent water quality.

Personally, no, I have kept them at 25-26 in the past, which I feel they do best at, but I don't think it's healthy for their longevity. Mine sit at room temp, which goes down to about 19 in winter and up to 26/27 in summer.
